Remember to "LIKE"

Just a remiinder post - if you read a comment and like it, it is important to click on the "LIKE" button. So often, I get notification that someone has responded to a comment I left, but did not take the time or care to "like" it.

Getting "likes" is important for climbing up WA's Ambassador ranking ladder. People who take the time to leave a helpful comment deserve to be given this small reward for their efforts. So please, if you agree with and like a comment you read, certainly respond to it if you are so inclined, but to not take the .001 seconds it takes to acknowledge the comment with a click of the mouse on the like button is kind of rude.

Just sayin' ...

So true. I didn't realize that it affected your WA ranking though. Good to know, tfs :)

Hi Marvin. Thanks for the reminder. I appreciate likes on their own merit. It is a great courtesy!

Thanks for this reminder, that happens to me sometimes

It takes a while for new people to get that. Thanks for posting it.

I totally agree and thank you for the reminder to us all. It is all too easy to just keep reading and reading and not interacting.

Marvin, I agree with you completely, it is important to click the like button in order to acknowledge comments and give thanks for helping out.

As I joined WA February this year I didn't know anything at all about social media communication. Here at WA I was confronted with it for the first time. Rather soon a fellow member made me aware of how it works. I'm thankful for getting that message.

When I see that newly joined persons have not liked any comments, I write them a PM and tell them why it is good to click the like button of contributions and comments, but of course it is their choice to do so or not.

Thanks for your post! Have a successful new week!
:-)

Pernilla, welcome to WA and the world of SM (Social Media). You sound like a fast learner, and I applaud you for sending PMs to newbies who are still not "getting it". ;-)

Well said, Marvin. It seemed obvious to me, early on here, but some don't get it. This is the essence of WA courtesy, and nearly everyone here that interacts regularly with other members follows this simple rule. In fact, I would say they follow the rule: If the comment is addressed to you, like it unless you REALLY object to the tone of the sentiment.

You chose a good topic for this post, as I've thought about sending a PM to members that haven't figured it out yet several times, but I never have. This is better...

Just sayin'...
Cheers,
Steve
