Easy Update Hack for Your Website

It is important that you keep your site(s) updated regularly with new posts, new content. Google and all the major search engines expect it, in order for them to favor you in the rankings. Wealthy Affiliate also rates your site's "health", and gives you a rating on publishing frequency. If you are not publishing at least 2 to 3 times a week (more is even better), you will drop in their ranking percentage.
Besides, you should be publishing regularly ... constantly adding quality, valuable content for your readers.

However, sometimes you have "one of those days!" Suddenly you are pulled in ten directions at once, and totally frazzled. How in the heck are you going to deal with all that's going on today, and still have time to make a timely new post?
Ever been there? I have, many times.
I recently figured out, however, how to hack the SEO algorithm and trick it into thinking I have published again, and it also keeps my WA site ranking at 100% in the publishing frequency department.
The cool thing is, it only takes a minute or two.

Go into your dashboard, click on "all posts" and do a search for one of your older posts. Once you have found it, click on "edit" that post. When your visual editor pulls the post up, go over to the "Publish" manager box in the upper right of the page. Where it says "Published on" and gives the date and time you published the post, click on "edit".
Simply change the date and time to the current day, and adjust the time to be a few minutes before the current time. Then, click on "ok", and click on "Update".
You are done! This counts, for all SEO practical purposes, as a new publication on your site.
Now, hang on a minute ... Do I recommend doing this often?
HECK NO!
Again, new, quality, valuable content being published on your site is how you serve well your readers. It is an imperative part of building your site's popularity and your readers' faith and trust in you.
So I am only posting this here as a quick fix hack, to help out in those extreme cases where Grandma just fell and broke her back and you have to rush to her aid, or the dog got loose and ran off to who knows where, or your kid got in a fight at school and you have to rush to the Principle's office, and you really need to publish today, but just don't have the time, etc. Those "poof - there goes your day-plan" times.
Got it?
Good.
You're welcome.
