Indeed! I have read life stories of many pain sufferers over the years. I have also spoken to some directly. Also, my own mother has suffered from chronic back pain for many years. One can't ,of course, generalize.
However, I walked away from the experience that a lot of pain sufferers would like to be defined by more than their pain. Humor is something that they actually enjoy, and they themselves employ it to manage and at times distract themselves from their pain. It is in this spirit that I have introduced "Kate". I hope she brings a little laughter and joy to those who need it.
