...as the old quote goes. Especially when you're having fun or enjoying yourself. It went by and before I knew it my birthday October 30 1959 came and went, and at age 35 (tongue-in-cheek), which is why I stay so young. (I remember, I remember, I remember…. )
Well anyway, I am still here. I have not been my online very much these past couple of minds, not that it makes a big difference in the world, I am only spec . But the reason is two-fold, 1st, I was working hard, probably t too hard , with too many hours in front of my computer, putting you together a training I want to share with the community here at WA, entitled "How to use Markdown as a tool when writing and publishing to WordPress", and will publish very soon. And the 2nd, something horrible happened, a real life choker, my speech recognition software , Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Professional Individual 14, went on the fritz For many, this would not be such a crisis incident, but for me it meant no more writing,. No morely accerssing the WA website. No more simple research with the computer. No more……just about anything with the computer. Effectively, no more business. And very minimal use of the computer.
It took almost a month to get back up and running. In my desperate attempts to figure out what happened I accidentally, to my horror, with hands full of hair being torn from the my scalp, deleted my user fi she lived 111 1/1/1 les, which I had been painstakingly upgrading and adding to for over at least five different versions of Dragon. Roughy about 10 years. I was heartbroken.
Now, I could have given up, or become a complainer, someone who tells you all that is wrong with the world, I dislike complainers.
Well, it turned out that Dragon just released a new version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Professional Individual 15. So while I was down. I was able to upgrade to a better version of the speech recognition system. I am totally pleased. I was also able to update to KnowBrainer Professional 2017, a third-party command utility that adds thousands of commands to Dragon, and simplifies the NaturallySpeaking learning curve.
It is my hope that people will not count it against me that I sidetracked in the direction of the speech recognition. It's just that I wanted to let people know where I've been.
