Wealthy Affiliate New Site Content Feature - My views
The WA Site Content new feature is another great tool to add to the WA Toolbox.
I've jumped straight in and transferred my 2 latest post drafts into the system.
I'm on a June Goal of writing for at least 30 mins everyday before I get caught up or distracted by something else.
I have 2 things I'd really like to see added to Site Content:
1/. The ability to highlight text to grab a quick word count; currently you only see a total word count.
2/. The ability to publish the post to website in 'draft' mode.
Aside from this...I LOVE it :)
Anyone else have something to add to this, good or bad?
regards
Suzanne

I also agree with wanting an option to save as a draft and also to be able to add images - then you can get it all finalised in the one place - then publish. At the moment I am having to publish, then go into WP, change it to a draft, then add the images in my WP edit
The feature is live, now.
It is available through the SITE RUBIX Build Your Websites Here box on the left of this page. The drop down will list Site Content about 4 spots down,
I know it's live, I've just wrote this post!
I meant How did you find working with it, you know, how did get on? :)
OH, I thought it was only for our websites (I didn't know it was for WA blogs!), so I'm sorry about that misdirection.
I have not been able to get onto it yet. That's why I said I was going to break the seal, later. I am hoping I am going to get a couple of projects done so I can try it out tomorrow night. (I got the grandkids tomorrow morning.)
It's a great tool that still has room for improvements.
Pushing it to draft mode is kind of essential for me.
I don't want to publish unfinished posts.
On the other hand, they are going to add the feature to add images.
Maybe then it's already good enough.
I have created two posts so far using WA Site Content. Both times I received the duplicate content message when I published them to my website.
Problem is that WA Site Content does not highlight or flag the content that is problematic. My "guess" is that the issue is the quoted material in my posts.
I use blockquote tags on my posts so the quoted text is highlighted. I also source the quotes.
You can still approve even with duplicate content, I do really like the idea of showing what content is duplicate. This absolutely can be an addition and I will get a ticket in for next release.
Thanks, Kyle. I approved the content and published even though I got the duplicate content flag. I just assumed it was the quoted text I was using.

1/. The ability to highlight text to grab a quick word count; currently you only see a total word count.
What is the purpose of that? I am not sure I see the purpose of looking at how many words in a block of text, you have the live word count within any article and if you want to test the word count of a block of text there are many free online tools you can use.
I just don't see the application of purpose. The overall word count is important, and that is why we have that in there.
2/. The ability to publish the post to website in 'draft' mode.
You can move to draft mode right away if your content isn't ready for the prime time. This only takes a second. What we have to be careful about is the idea that we are recreating wordpress, we are creating a writing platform.
We are going to be adding many features though (like images) that will allow you to publish your content directly without having to go back and add things.
We also have lots of improvements coming on the linking side of things for internal links and MANY more rollouts that will take place in v2.0 which I anticipate this release won't be any more than 6 weeks away.
As it stands now, it is still very much superior to writing how most people use to write, in Google Docs, in Word, or in Grammar.ly.
Thanks for commenting Kyle. The word count thing is what I do every so often to see how many words I've written in one session.
It helps me personally as I struggle with writing and have a goal of writing for 30 mins or 300 words, before I do anything else.
I can live without it though..
