A Sunday to Remember!
Today is 6 of 7.
Day five was an easy day. A couple of stand by's at classic and then switched over to the men league for a line-middle.
The middle was a treat. A 30A between the Borracho Blue and Inter. Had some great players on the field. Former college players, ex pros, and one player who had played on the national team for his country. Bobby Shamu was there. I felt honored as an east Texas country boy to be on the same field. Also felt a lot of pressure to not screw it up. Came out okay. Had a magnificent time.
I am home again. 700 miles, 21 soccer games to date. Will make a good try at catching up on my sleep before noon. Indoor tonight.
Hope everybody is warm, safe, and well.
God bless.

Yeah, your right, I coached it for Nine years when the boys were young , Have couple of granddaughters playing now but I need to get out and watch the older ones that are past the Daisy picking, you know when that Light goes on .
Yes, and age isn't always the deciding factors. Seen some U-11 and U-12 teams that could play the game. Sometimes the older age groups get a little hung up the physicality of the game and let the skill and beauty languish,
Refereeing soccer games are like Forrest Gumps box of chocolates. Never really know what you have until you get into it.
Glad you enjoy.
If you have the time some weekend you ought to get out to your local soccer association and watch the kids play.
It is a blast. From the daisy pickers to the future college prospects.
Hope all is well with you.
Vaya con Dios!
what a sched - people don't realize how good some of these players are until you see the things they can do with a ball or better yet get on the field with them - indoor is my fav - enjoy
No kidding. It was a pleasure to watch people with such great skills. Also the things they did off ball to move to the right places. It was a treat. Most of my refereeing doesn't include players of that caliber.
Love indoor a lot, but outdoor will always be my true love. Course it is a different climate and we can basically do outdoor 12 months a year.
Our high school season starts at the first of the year. Makes me laugh. In August when it is often over 100 degrees we load a football player down with 50 lbs of equipment and try to give them heat stroke. In January we put the kids out there in shorts and t-shirts and try to kill them with pneumonia. The guy who set the seasons must have had a weird sense of humor and got a giggle.
Let us know how your team does. Good Luck..
God Bless..

Enjoying your updates. I can tell you love this line of work, go man!
Thanks, I am glad you like it.
Yes, it is what i enjoy. Not much glory in being a journeyman referee, but love the game and the challenge of keeping things fair and safe.
Know you must feel that way about your music.
God bless.
I do Steve, but times are changing and so am I. I tell you, I am having more fun providing sound right now for the independent Wrestling circuit as my son is ironically a referee there. :)
Now your son has a really interesting job of referee.
It is pretty cool. I get to meet a lot of famous people for sure.
