Have you heard "Content is King"?
Hi WA friends and family. Those of you that know me around the community may remember that not so long ago I was here every day telling you about my 30 day challenge.
If you are not familiar with a 30 day challenge it is popular in the blogging world and usually hosted by a blogger or training site. I issued myself a challenge and attempted to hold myself accountable to it but reporting here daily. The nice thing about a a hosted challenge is that being involved on that level with other bloggers helps with accountability.
The challenge is to post a new article every day for 30 days.
Bottom line on my challenge is I only got halfway and I am still a little disappointed at that. The thing is, disappointment does nothing for success, so what I do next is now the most important thing.
My life situation changed a little and I had to make a choice on time allocation and decided to come back to the challenge another time.
All that said, what I want to tell you about is the analytics since I did the challenge.
I published 14 articles in 15 days and I have not touched the site for over 3 weeks. My sessions (traffic) since the beginning of the challenge have more than tripled for the same time frame prior to the challenge.
My bounce rate has dropped from around 55% to 11% and my average session is now 2 minutes and 50 seconds verses about a minute ten, prior.
What is the message?
By publishing every day I improved my rankings which increased my traffic, that in turn grew my audience which than increased conversions.
So there it is... the stuff you learn here really does work and this is just one small example of that. I have sometimes felt like I was spinning my wheels and not getting any traction and I know that there are members out there struggling to stay motivated.
It does work and you can do it. Try not to worry so much about how fast it happens and just keep taking action.
Keep the dream alive!
PS - I got a new referral during the same time period when I was away.

Thanks, Paul! I always appreciate the comments you leave. I think you have probably commented on every blog I have written at WA. That's pretty amazing.
Bey Steve,
Thanks for sharing the good, the bad and the ugly. I appreciate your honesty.
I'm not familiar with the term "bounce rate"; I'm still going through the lessons (UGH!!!) don't recall seeing that term.
It is an analytics metric that shows the percentage of visitors that click through to your site and then exit from that same page without any engagement.
Here is a link if you are interested.

Yes, you are right! I write one post per day, and I noticed the bounce rate decreasing, Content is the king!
