An Ode to Joe
So, there was this 'challenge' of sorts today, by a man named Joe (oh, you know who you are! :)), inspiring many of us newcomers (and all) ... to write. Just a few words. Just. Write. Express. Share. Practice to/with the community. So here I am!
I am just a little over one week into WA as a full fledged member (it took me a whole 5 days to decide to jump in feet first!). I have completed the first level training; bought a domain; got through the About post and Privacy page; created a domain name email address to put on my new site; started the Jaaxy research for my first post, and thankfully running into Jessica's long tail post about titles, which will allow me to revisit my present search results and hopefully improve on it based on latest Google BERT update - thank you Jessica!
All this while working full time.
The training is *exactly* what I needed, because I know I am the kind of person that will over-think all of this. And then procrastinate. Meaning, get nothing done as I 'think' about it all. But the fantastic training allowed me to push through; to stop the unfocused thinking and simply follow the instructions. Hence, start getting it done!
But as any habits that have not been 'overcome' (yet) will do, doubts crept in. And that's when I found one of the biggest, most pleasant surprises here: the WA community. You most awesome people here share. Like, everything. Like, you're reading my mind! lol You let it all hang out; your perspectives; your advice, opinions, and answers. And it's clear; you care. Wow. Just. Wow. Thank you all.
For the newcomers here, and as you can see I am/was one of you just a short week ago: listen to this man Joe (and MANY others here), and dive in. You have nothing to lose. You have everything to gain. Yes, it's going to take work. You *will* have to put yourself out there. Joe recommended to start putting it here, and he was right.
So, back to Joe (oh, you KNOW who you are :)): my sincere appreciation and gratitude to and for you for inspiring me to get off my ... 'list of excuses' ... to put myself out here today. I think, no, now I know, you're onto something because as I near the end of this post, I feel liberated. And most importantly, inspired to continue writing my first post and start building this thing (without, you know, over-thinking the whole thing and getting nothing done!).
To Joe: Thank you. You must know who you are; I for one am honoured and grateful you motivated and inspired me :)
Continued success to all, you got this .. and when in doubt, trust yourself, the community, and Joe! :)

Nice one Steve. Putting yourself 'out there', can be nerve racking at the best of times. Joe is an inspiration to all of us and if you ever need that extra something to propel yourself forward, then reading his posts will be the best place to start.
First of many posts from you, I would think, and congratulations on going Premium.
Thank you Twack! And full confession; it was a little nerve racking! Never just picked up the pen like this before (so to speak). I’ve heard/read it being said here (and other places) that we need to do the thing we fear in order to overcome .. but for some reason reading Joe’s post yesterday gave me that extra little ‘push’ from intellectually understanding to doing. I am very grateful for that.
After completing the exercise yesterday, the power of doing is the key. I suspect (and hope) it will build personal momentum for me to continue “just doing it” (writing).
Thanks for your feedback and comments Twack, much appreciated :)

You're very welcome Steve. I think my first post was under 200 words, so you're doing great.
