Keep Your Mind Open!
Hello!
It's been a while since I written a post. Please, forgive me. I have been busy relocating to a new country and only now it feels like I am settled and ready to show more TLC to my eyes.

Optometrist 1
I'd like to share with you an experience of two different eye examinations. I booked a quick eye test as I needed to exchange my driver's licence. An optometrist looked at my most recent prescription and checked my spectacles. To our surprise, the spectacles had prism lens even though the prescription didn't have any indication of it. I simply didn't need prism lens. Full stop. That was fine. Then I told the optometrist that I need to fix lenses in my weaker pair of spectacles, she checked them and said that I should only have one pair of spectacles, not several of them. She did not recommend fixing that pair at all. Moreover, she mentioned that according to recent research, we shouldn't allow our brain to see a blur if the brain sees a blur it will actually make myopia worse. In other words, I need to wear glasses all the time! That upset me. I went home and looked up recent research, I did not find anything about the blur and wearing glasses all the time. If you have come across anything related to this, please let me know!
Optometrist 2. Meeting a Different Optometrist
A few weeks later I rang Optometrist 1 to book an appointment to get lenses without prism for my glasses. She was booked out for another month. I called another optometrist from a local town. Luckily, they had a cancellation and could book me in. What a relief! I warmed to this optometrist straight away. She said that if I saw improvement from my what I'd been doing, I should continue. Moreover, she told me that research was still very contradictory, especially when it comes to children and adults.

Optometrists and Holistic Vision Experts
I have been to optometrists in different countries and one thing doesn't stop amazing me! They all used visual aids. Younger folk wouldn't go anywhere without contact lenses.
Optometrists spend a long time doing their training. I wonder if they are taught just about the composition of the human eye, diseases. What about looking after our eyes, how to use them wisely when reading, doing computer work etc.?
My Eyes and Me
I have a little routine going when it comes to my eyes and I use a few tools (very FEW)!!! Next time I will share it with you.
When I am in the middle of something very important and I can't fit it in, I would do the bare minimum: REGULAR BREAK!
It's like pressing a reset button and give your eyes and brain some well-deserved rest.
I do try to do eye exercises in the morning and then give my eyes plenty of rest during the day.
If you can't fit it in in the morning, don't worry. You can use Tomato Timer and set reminders for regular breaks.
Look after Your Eyes!
Take a great care of your eyes and I will be back soon!

Hey Tanya,
I have to wear glasses, my son is considered legally blind according to one optometrist but just needs VERY strong glasses by another. So I guess it all depends on who you talk to. I know that my son can't see without his glasses!! Then my daughter has perfect eyesight until she was in her late 20s and had to start wearing glasses full- time.
Tried and True
Elaine
Hi, Elaine. I have become myopic in high school. For years I have been wearing glasses and contact lenses. I have learnt about people who gave up glasses for good and had a few sessions with a holistic vision educator in Australia. I am determined to see well again naturally. There is a man who was considered legally blind and he drives (legally) and teaches people about restoring their vision. His name is Meir Schneider. I read one of his books, very inspiring!
