From Burnout to Chill Out!

Life is good, life is precious, life is interesting, will you agree? So I thought until burnout hit me. I never so it coming But I managed to turn my life around!

A little bit of rhyming here for you, guys!

After years of working and not living, I reached the point when I turned into a robot which was conditioned to work, that's it, nothing else. In those days sleep was the most precious commodity. When I left the job eventually, I had time to look at what really matters and how I can combine 'work and play'.

I have always had an interest in human being potential, our brain, how we can be more productive and have time for fun without feeling guilty. After resting and sleeping in for several days in a row I decided to develop a system which will work me and something I can stick with. Please, welcome, Her Highness Routine!

If we look up the word ''routine'' in dictionaries, the following words are used to describe its meaning:

  • regular
  • habitual
  • usual
  • methodical
  • fixed
  • everyday

Personally, I like the word 'methodical', it sounds serious and I take my routine seriously and treat it with lots of respect.

For the routine to work and make a difference in your life, in my opinion, it needs to be:

  • simple,
  • realistic and
  • regular.

I have established morning and evening routines. When life happens and I have no time to do a full routine, I will do the essentials. Otherwise, I split my routine into little chunks and do it bit by bit during regular breaks.

I think preparation is the key. For example, in the morning I do exercises. I prepare my gym clothes and trainers, so they will be waiting for me in the morning when I am up and then-no excuses.

My Morning Routine:

  1. When I wake up I tell myself that it is going to be the best day of my life and I smile. Then I rush downstairs because my puppy of an alarm clock is waiting to greet me. It is time for cuddles.
  2. Meditation and deep breathing.
  3. General exercises to wake up my body, nothing too fancy or strenuous.
  4. Eye exercises.
  5. Herbal tea (I am not a coffee person, sorry!) and breakfast.
  6. Then some more cuddles with my puppy and a quick walk around the block.
  7. Switch on classical music on the radio.

Then it's work time...

During work, I use a timer. This way I don't have to look at the clock often, my breaks are set and I use time wisely.

In the evening, I perform long swings, palming and a gratitude exercise. I love it when I can finish my day falling asleep to an evening meditation by Louise Hay. She totally rocks my boat!

So, what my routine gives me? In a nutshell, freedom.

After I completed exercises in the morning, I have a sense of achievement, even making the bed every morning feels fulfilling! I feel energized and ready to tackle whatever a day ahead brings. it is important to be flexible and make it work! Changes happen all the time. No point fighting them!

Win your morning and you will win your day!

I usually do the most important and urgent things in the morning and then I use evenings to connect with my family, friends, nature and pursue my numerous interests!

Live well! Live fully! Be kind to yourself and others!

Work, create and don't forget to play!

Hey Tanya,
Yes a routine is very important!!! I can't seem to find my routine again. Maybe when I move and things settle down it will come back. Until then I will just be wing it day by day.

Tried and True

Elaine

Yes, Elaine, whatever works for you. I call my partner the most organised chaotic person. He just manages to be organised but he doesn’t have any routine in place. Having said that he has a very acute gut feeling, can predict things and good at winging it as well.

❤️

Thanks, Fleeky. Sending you lots of ❤️ too. Love your posts!

Love yours to o-o

Take care... at your pace...

Thanks for this positive vibes. Been planning to start regular exercise, hopefully soon!
