Is WA a Mastermind?

You may have heard of the term "Mastermind" group, or people throwing the term around.

What is a mastermind group?

Wikipedia defines it as:

• Two or more persons participating
• Peer-to-peer mentoring
• Problem solving
• Input and advise

It is a "meeting of the minds," therefore Mastermind.

This concept was first mentioned in 1925 by author Napoleon Hill in his book The Law of Success, and described in more detail in his 1937 book, Think and Grow Rich.
Napoleon Hill, himself described a Mastermind as:

“A coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose. This form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great success.”

Why should you care about a mastermind?

Napoleon Hill was searching for the secrets of highly successful people when he came up with his description of a mastermind group.

First and foremost, it is "people coming together."

Then "in harmony for the attainment of a definite purpose."
Therefore this 'coming together and meeting of the minds" creates the process of gradual or unconscious assimilation of ideas, knowledge, etc.

Personal development guru Jim Rohn describe the results of this association as:

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Humans are generally social, which means we will spend time with people, over coffee, dinner, watch a movie and so on.

However, we also invest our time with people. The investment of time with these people is a selective process. You need to ask for directions from people who know the way.

The wise person fortifies his or her life with the right friendships.

If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

The Challenge Of Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship and Success is a journey of a thousand miles.

Who we meet along this journey will help us get there faster or slow us down.

If you associate with motivated, success-minded people who are focused on achieving and doing great things, those are the same people who will usually want to take you right along with them.

When you surround yourself with that type of energy, and you cannot help but be lifted higher.

In a mastermind group, we hope to relationships with others who will provide encouragement when you feel ready to throw in the towel, inspiration when you’re creatively tapped out, and a sounding board for your ideas, dreams and fears.

There are very few challenges in life where the journey can get lonely and tough, therefore the connections you make in a mastermind can be the key to pushing forward in times when others would have called it quits.

Dale Carnegie, who made the above quote is referring to the process of growth in trying harder, with different options like more ideas and new skills in their pursue of the goal.

When they arrive at success, they realized everything they have done was growing everyday in different ways so they could overcome the challenges along the way.

In a mastermind, you have an environment of support will encourage your and you will benefit immensely from varied perspectives and feedback.
