Did anyone received this email from Yahoo?

I received this email from Yahoo apparently, from the following email address: info@service.comms.yahoo.net

Anyone knows if this is real or fake?

I have a Yahoo email account that I rarely use, and I haven't received this email.

Do you think it's something Yahoo would send to all of their users? If so, then it could be fake, as not all of us have received it. I can't say for sure though...

Thanks for your comment.

There was a breach at that time and consequent breaches before and after. I do not know and you don't say whether you held or are holding a Yahoo account only I tired of sending them missives about the inordinate number of breaches that appeared to be happening to them.

If you don't hold an account and it is unsolicited than phishing is the game and your personal details are the aim. ;)

You have a valid point. I had a Yahoo account for years and that is why I look at it, even though it is not may main account today.

Yes, but it is after the fact. Pointless except for using legitimacy of an occurrence with bad intentions? In all my yeas with yahoo they never tell anyone anything and almost impossible to communicate with. So, I would have treated with great suspicion. ;

Great point. Thanks.

Sometimes you can tell by looking at who sent the email. I've encountered this one of my email accounts as well as Amazon, a bank where I have no account (that one was easy) and my Chase account. All of these have fraud departments where they want you to forward the email to them to investigate. Yahoo doesn't have a phone number but this link tells you how to report a phising email: https://safety.yahoo.com/Security/REPORTING-ISSUES.html

Thanks for the link. Will surely check it out.

You're welcome. I received the same email this morning and deleted it since I wasn't affected by the breach.

So many scams these days. Just ignore.

2

Likely do that, Thanks.

Stanley, I think I saw it, but deleted it.
