"Not Accepting Comments" Fix
Yesterday I tried to make a comment on another members website and received and error message saying:
ERROR: your comment has been blocked because the website owner has set up their spam filter to not allow comments from users behind proxies.
I also signed out and tried to make a comment on my own site as a visitor and received the same error message. I suspect that many new users here on WA may have the same issue and possibly not even realize it. If any of you are not receiving comments this could be a reason.
Here's the very simple fix that I found. It's in the SpamShield plugin settings.
1) Go into your settings for SpamShield.
2) Scroll down to the line that says, "Allow users behind proxy servers to comment?"
3) Click on the box to the left of that line to place a check in the box.
4) Scroll down to the bottom and save your new setting.
5) Now sign out of your Wordpress account and your Wealthy Affiliate account. (You must be signed out of both to comment on your own website as a visitor.)
6) Navigate to your website and enter a comment. It should be working now.
This fixed the problem for me. If you still run into any problems feel free to send me a quick message just in case I've found anything else.
P.S. If you receive the error message when trying to comment on another members site you might want to do them a favor and pass this information on to them.
