Yesterday I found a valuable reasearch study performed by Brandon Gaille.
A long, in-depth report focusing on four vital questions:

Very cool post.
Looks like affiliate marketing in the wealth field(finance), and health field(lifestyle, diet, food,etc) are the place to be for us beginners. Can anyone say WA? Makes me feel good about my niches.

I noticed that in my niche, the ones that seem to be doing the best ($25,000/m) are selling online courses and the like.
What I found surprising is how much you can truly make in this business. I would be happy with the bottom tier, but now I am motivated to shoot even higher, thanks for the stats!!

So, tell me, since you gain income from online courses, are you rich yet? No, you don't have to answer that, but it looks to me like you have a good niche.
Very interesting. The biggest surprise for me was that Personal Finance is the biggest niche in terms of income.

Wow! This is really neat. Thanks! I guess I am a hobby blogger. I am encouraged that I get most of my traffic from organic sources rather than advertising however (since advertising accounts for most sales for the hobby level whereas affiliates account for most sales for the next level up). I see I am normal in that I use Amazon primarily and that is the norm for lower levels as well. Courses are definitely the way to go!!!
I'd say that under 6 figures we are all hobby bloggers :)
