Daily Facts - Day #29: Half of websites are still unsecure!
I just saw a recent W3Techs report saying that ...
50.6% of websites use a valid SSL certificate.
In other words: 49.4% of websites are still unsecure!
I'd say that's simply frightening ...
And made me to realize again, how lucky we are here at WA!
You might think that having free SSL with a $49 premium membership is something normal ...
Well, it isn't!
Each hosting company will charge you seperately for an SSL certificate.
Last time when I checked, GoDaddy's Standard SSL was $69! For one year! For ONE site!

Yes, I've tried other website companies and they have you pay extra for their SSL certificates. So, when I got to be here with WA it was a really nice bonus that they offered SSL certification with the membership. And I'm really enjoying it!
100% agree. I bought SSL from Namecheap after the purchase of my domain. It was in that price range you mentioned.
The not so funny part is that I never got around to installing it because the How-To-Guide was three pages long. In other words, it was not pain free.
With WA it's standard with the installation.
There's nothing more unsettling than going to a website and your browser gives you the message: This website is not secure!
Man dude there you go again doing right man you are awesome thanks for the info gbu and your family always.
This service we have at WA is amazing in this regard and so important thanks for reminding me and sharing
My site is still unsecure..I tried to fix it before but now the worning add is poping again..How can I fix it?
Oh yes, another wonderful reason to be thankful for WA!
Last time I checked other hosting companies i.e., HostGator or Blue Host, they will add on an additional monthly fee (anywhere from say $4 - $10) per month - per site.
That can really add up!
And I am thankful to you for you posting this!
I still have bad taste in my mouth from GoDaddy making me wait 60 days just to transfer a domain name.
I can understand that Mark :)
But, that's a quite common practice among host providers ...
He isn't talking about the time needed for the actual transfer
He is talking about a newly purchased domain that can't be transferred in the first 2 two months
