Site Statistics - How do they fair?
Hi Everyone,
So, I thought I would be honest and put down some of my site statistics that have been recorded on Google Analytics to see how they compare to other newbies on WA.
I am new to this affiliate lark but I have implemented what I have learnt on the OEC training package. Maybe my figures are good for 10 days in, maybe they are not so good? Personally, I am happy with them because they show that the training works and that my site is getting traffic.
The majority of the traffic is not pure organic and is not yet through keyword search, despite my pages being indexed (in total 11 articles amounting to 13,082 words) I could not possibly expect a high organic based traffic rate this early and I understand this takes time. Whilst it is our ultimate aim to appear at the top of the search page when someone uses our keyword, I am wise enough to understand this will take time....!
I have opened a PInterest social media account and I have created a Facebook page, I also used my LinkedIn account and Instagram accounts to promote my site over the past 10 days. I even downloaded Textgram to allow me to put text on my pictures for Instagram (only today though!).
I have tried to write regular and relevant content and have also listed 3 reviews for practice and to get into the swing of things.
I would be interested in a like for like comparison from other newbies, I understand that those of you who have been doing this some time will have figures that will make mine look minuscule, but that is fine, because I am at the beginning and aim to one day get those statistics too! Your stats are in my sights lol...
So, here they are:
NEW VISITORS (each date - Feb)
11th - 15th - 0
16th - 7
17th - 8
18th - 10
19th - 34
20th - 23
21st - 13
22nd - 6
23rd - 3
24th - 12
25th - 26
26th - 18 (Still 7 hours of day remaining at time of typing)
Interesting to see the wave effect from 7 to 34 then back down to 3 and starting to rise back up. Maybe this coincides with my SM campaign or maybe it is another reason? Any ideas?
My final figures for now:
Over 10 Days
Total Users - 160 (I am happy with this, 160 people visited my site that did not exist 12 days ago!)
Total Sessions - 270
Average Session - 5min 50sec (I am happy with this and would be more concerned if it was less than 1 minute! These figures show that the visitors on average, are staying on my page. Maybe because the site hits the points to keep them interested?
Total Countries - 25 (Imagine!)
Top 2 - USA - 60
- UK - 50
So what do you think? Is this a good sign of things to come? I feel satisfied that I am going in the right direction, although I know I have a long way to go and my biggest challenge will be sustainability of interesting and relevant content. I am trying to create habits for writing and posting so that I get into a routine but do not lose my life online.
Thanks for reading and have an awesome day and productive week!
Best Wishes
Craig/Sikick

Hi Craig, I think things are looking good for you. The fact that people are spending more than 5 minutes on your posts is great as to your content
Thanks Les, I thought the same also. I think I read somewhere that a visitor will take around 10 seconds to decide whether they like the look of a site or not and therefore decide whether to exit or stay (Or have I just made that up lol...)
Regards
Craig
For only three weeks old is proof that what you have learned so far is manifesting into success. Well Done! I would pay attention to the organic search data more as this data will tell you how well your keywords are working - and which ones are bringing traffic.
Thank you for sharing,
Ken
Ken, thank you for the feedback. I will look into what you have advised re the keyword use. Slowly getting there with GA, a great tool, once you understand it lol.....
Thanks again
Craig
Looks like you’re making great strides, well done, just keep going!
I’ve noticed my traffic fluctuates a lot as most of it is still due to SM activity. So that’s probably what you are seeing too. Peeps staying on your site over 5 mins is great, particularly as most of your traffic is from SM. Your posts must be giving people what they want to read and be long enough with sufficient internal links to keep them on your site. Two thumbs up!!
