How to do Snapshots?

I want to learn how to screen capture in my desktop, mobile and laptop. It's been a long time I am asking this on my mind how to do it. Whenever I came across a snapshot advertisements , I am wondering how they do it. Sometimes I tried simply to copy and paste but it does not work. Any help is so much appreciated.
