Took Me Five Months to Launch A Store

I have the Card Shop up and working. The shop was my original goal for starting my own domain. I am not too happy with WooCommerce and I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice with add-ons or other ideas.

One issue I have been trying to solve is an extra item the customer may want. I thought I would have it as something they could add themselves in checkout. I can not seem to locate how to add that in before the total price is added up.

Is there any glaring mistakes I've made that has past my good judgement? I would appreciate your eyes and opinion on my first attempt.

Hi Sherry,
I asked a question for advice on setting up an e-store.
Haven't had time to explore any of the suggestions yet, but you might want to have a look: Hope you can find a solution.

Sue, Last night I looked at Ecwid. I will let you know how that simple estore works out. Will you be selling your own items?

Thanks, for informing me Sherry.
I have never heard of Ecwid but had been exploring a few others.
Yes, I do have some products of my own.

This is a bunch of raspberries. I am very frustrated after switching out three themes and a few plug-ins. I hate to remove the products I have already loaded, but I am wondering if they are conflicting with the switches I have made. I always get the same blah look.

Any suggestions? I am going to set up a rubixsite and test that way. Everyone thought WooCommerce was the way to go in my first survey on "how to set up a simple shop". What first step should I take to clear the board and start over?

Definitely start a siterubix website and do your testing on that. I do not have a website geared towards e-commerce but I have heard a lot of great things about the WooCommerce plugin. Perhaps it does have to do with your theme.

But in doing a little research I found an article that lists 7 of the best e-commerce plugins for WordPress, WooCommerce being one of them. When testing your e-commerce site using your siterubix test website, perhaps you should try some of these other plugins. I hope this helps you.

Thanks boomer... I am trying Ecwid on Monday. I even have a call appointment with them. I guess WA members do not do too much of their own products. Most affiliates have stores set up for their affiliate members.

You are welcome. Most WA members do not but there are some that do sell their own products.

Best of luck to you and definitely set up a test site. I use one for anytime I want to make a major change and do not want to risk damaging my live site.

Yes, I had another member tell me the same thing. Must Do the good advice I get instead of just listening.

I have checked it with my mobile. The pictures are not load very well. Perhap someone else can double check for her.

I have to say that I am very disappointed with the WooCommerce plug-in, but I did not get any other advise on a good eCommerce plug-in or any shop arrangement.

So the shop does not look very well on mobile. Thanks for that info Cathy.
