Somehow I Did Not Know About Image "file name".
I have loaded plenty of pictures into my pages and posts using WP media and after 16 months I found out if you are going to load an image always rename the image with your keyword before you load it into WP Media.
There are reasons why you should know about image file name and I am very disappointed I did not get the word about it before.
Why 'file name' Is Important.
First: the keyword in file name is a Google plus.
Second: You can not change the file name in WP Media. Delete and reload the image is only option.
Third: You are losing good avenues of additional visits through your images.
So the basic to know is rename your image in your computer before you browse it and load into WP Media. The rename should be your keyword used in URL and Page Title. Do and know this and later, you can go back and optimize with alt text, image title, etc.

Thank you for this post, very important to know this about uploading images. I'm glad I came across this before I uploaded any images.
Have a great day!
You are one the people I want to reach on this issue. I am going back to the Course Lessons and see if I missed this little detail. I have been writing at articles sites since 2008 and the site's system had taken care of this detail and I was aware if it.
Starting all new with WordPress I totally erased in my mind this important attribute for images.
Please let us know if you find anything new about this subject.
Wish you the best of success!

Very good advice Sherry, you could add that the rename can't have comma's, I see a lot of questions about not been able to add pictures and get errors. Because they used a ' in the name.
Yes! Beginners beware use only letters.
Loes, I use lots of images in a single page and what is the best practice renaming them for SEO? For instance, I have 4 images all showing instructions. Should all have the same title like pic, pic1, pic 2, pic3, or should I use keyword synonyms? ie, Directions, instructions, step by step, how-to. When does keyword stuffing become an issue as far as labeling images?
You should use what's on the pictures, so when people are looking in google images the pictures will lead people to your website. A picture of the statue of liberty, you call the statue of liberty :)
I just hear the words "keyword stuffing" and I imagine, that for sure, I will end up doing the stuffing no no.
KEYWORD STUFFING is STUFFING KEYWORDS wherever you can STUFF KEYWORDS, and there were people KEYWORD STUFFING and added whole paragraphs full of KEYWORD STUFFING into the background (white) color, so the visitors didn't see the KEYWORD STUFFING. This is a little example how KEYWORD STUFFING works.
Okay I see, Loes, If you do your honest by the rules content, no problem.
