New Mobile Search by Google to be Released
Just read in the LA Times Google is going to release on Tuesday new search criteria for mobile friendly websites. Quote from The Times Google "will favor websites that Google defines as "mobile friendly." Websites that don't fit the description will be demoted in Google's search results on smart phones," Those friendly websites will more likely appear closer to the top of the search.
The Times said it will not affect searches for laptops or desktops.
So do some homework and get your site mobile ready. Frankly, on Thursday I thought I covered my bases when I added the WPTouch plug-in. It was very dull looking for my theme or just is. It was a gray list of of something I would not have stayed interested in if I was searching. I spent all Friday afternoon for a new theme and I settled for Weaver II. It brings the pages up almost was if it is a desktop.
The article writer thought this move was going to affect, in a big way, how people will be shopping. All young people under 27 have their heads bent to their smart phones. Some have money for What? Food, clothes, accessories, makeup,
So, Thank you Wordpress. Are you mobile ready?

Start by checking your site to see if it's mobile friendly using this checker from Google webmaster tools:

Many WP themes are and those that are not should be upgraded by now.
Dave, there are a few ways. First this link is straight from Google and does a test. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/
If you are not ready another blog that has a ton of discussion is Are you Mobile Compatible. I finally did search for a new theme because the WPTouch plug-in I considered just a temp patch.
Wow, this is heavy. Thanks for the headsup Sherry. Will certainly check this out.
Blessings....

I just blogged on this earlier today. I actually like the new look in searches, with the site's NAME being used, with the breadcrumbs leading backward to the post or page being searched for.

I was reading the theme specs and for responsive all I need to do is make my screen smaller to see what the site looks like. For Smart phone mobile there is a display to access for those who do not have a smart phone for testing.
