Moving Content Between Sites
Anyone can stop Google from indexing pages on their websites if they wish using the Robots Meta Noindex (see below) on the SEO page of the page/post
however if your site has already been indexed and you decide to move it to another site the page will then get indexed again and you risk being penalised for duplicate content. - did you know you can remove content from Googles Index and cache?
Well according to the 2007 article (yes it's quite old) you can, and instructions on how to do it can be accessed by the link below

I did post this liink in response to a query earlier, hopefully this wont be considered SPAM ?
Hopefully this information will help someone. Sharon

Hi, what if I move my domain name to WA hosting and re-upload the same content, will my website be penalized by google? Thank you.
You should be able to create a backup of your website. Labman has created a very good tutorial on how to do this.

After you created your backup and have moved your domain to WA hosting, here's a video on how to import your backup.

This is usually possible with a Premium domain. If you run a free website at, let's say, Wordpress.com, I don't think it's possible to transfer your content as a backup file.
Thanks for the post Sharon - I'm testing out a free theme as the premium one I'm using at the moment does not function properly on all devices. Because I'm using a test site (using siterubix), I did just that and checked the no index follow to safeguard possible indexing as I may be using duplicate content when testing out the theme. Colin
Hi Colin I think Google might still index omn occassions, but if youfind its indexed you can go through the process in the link above :)

When I moved my host site to WA everything had to be redone. So I usually make a folder with all my manuscripts and images, so that if I lose any content, I have that backup to repost all my pages, posts, and images. As far as your domain name, if it is already registered, you shouldn't have any problems. I haven't encountered any problems with Google so far. [knock on wood, lol].
