Why I’m Taking One Day OFF Each Week (And Why You Might Want To Too)

Have you ever felt like you’re busy… but not actually moving forward? That’s where I found myself recently. I’ve been showing up, posting, creating, helping others—but behind the scenes, I had a growing list of projects I kept putting off. Not because I didn’t want to do them… but because I wasn’t quite sure how to do them. I've been logging onto WA many times a day to interact, share and face it "earn credit s to meet my goal of $20 worth of credits each month. But I've gotten way behind on other important projects. I need to spend some time concentrating on "finishing" them. My personality is such that I can get very excited about a project and then my ADHD kicks in and I don't finish the project and it goes on the back burner. "NOT GOOD FOR BUSINESS".
Sound familiar?
My “Stuck List
Here’s what’s been quietly piling up for me:
• My Noptin email automation (still not flowing the way I want)
• My Pinterest accounts (so much potential, not enough structure)
• My Printify shop (this one excites me!)
• Fixing Google Analytics on my WA promotion site
• Getting my Commission Factory affiliate tag verified
• Updating Amazon affiliate pages to meet the new rules
- Finish the updated WA training modules
That’s not a small list… and every time I thought about it, I’d feel a little overwhelmed. So instead of tackling it, I’d go write another blog post, help answer questions on WA and other stuff.
Busy vs Productive
Here’s the honest truth I had to admit to myself:
- Posting content feels productive
- Learning something new feels uncomfortable

But guess which one actually moves my business forward right now?
Yep… the uncomfortable one.
My New Plan (And It Already Feels Better)
I’ve decided to take one full day each week (at least) and dedicate it to:
- Training
- Fixing
- Learning
- Building
No posting. No pressure to “produce.” Just progress.
Today’s Focus: Printify
Today, I’m diving into something I’m genuinely excited about—Printify and print-on-demand.
There are:
- YouTube tutorials
- Step-by-step walkthroughs
- Printify’s own training resources
And instead of skimming or saving them for “later,” I’m actually sitting down and learning it properly. And honestly? That feels really good. I may just stick to it for more than one day. There are more than 20 days in each month so I will still have time to earn my $1/day credit goal within WA. And guess what? If I can get my print on demand and Tea Swag shop working, maybe I can sell some "swag" to help pay for my Membership.
Why This Matters (Especially for Us in WA)
Wealthy Affiliate gives us so many tools and opportunities… But it’s easy to fall into a pattern of:
- Writing
- Posting
- Sharing
…without fully building out the systems that actually generate income.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is pause and say:
“Today, I’m not producing… I’m improving.”
A Little Encouragement
If you’ve got a backlog like I do, maybe try this: Pick one day (or more) a week and make it your:
- Learning Day
- Fix-It Day
- Growth Day
No pressure. No perfection. Just progress.
Final Thought
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do…is stop producing long enough to grow.
If you’re working on something behind the scenes right now, I’d love to hear what it is. We’re all figuring this out together.
