The Secret to Better AI Images Isn't the AI

Introduction
Use ChatGPT as your art director
When I first joined Kre8tor.ai, I quickly realized something. The quality of my images wasn't limited by the AI.
It was limited by my prompts. Like many beginners, I would type something like:
"Create a beach scene with a woman."
The results were...okay. But they weren't memorable. Then I started using ChatGPT as my creative partner.
Instead of asking Kre8tor to invent everything, I let ChatGPT help me build rich, detailed prompts full of emotion, composition, lighting, storytelling, symbolism, and artistic style. The difference was dramatic.
Today almost every image I enter into Kre8tor challenges begins with a conversation in ChatGPT.
ChatGPT Isn't Writing the Image...It's Acting Like an Art Director
Instead of simply describing objects, ChatGPT helps answer questions like:
- What story is this image telling?
- What emotion should someone feel?
- Where should the subject stand?
- What should the lighting be?
- What artistic style fits best?
- Should there be symbolism?
- What details make the image believable?
- What should NOT be in the image?
Those are the things that separate an average prompt from an unforgettable one.
An ExampleI recently wanted to create a fine art piece from one of my own beach photographs.
My original idea was simply:
"Woman standing on beach holding a camera."
ChatGPT kept asking questions.
- What is she feeling?
- Why is she there?
- Should she be taking photographs...or should she have lowered the camera?
- Should there be footprints?
- A sailboat?
- Birds?
- What title tells the story?
Eventually the prompt became several detailed paragraphs.
The final artwork became Listening to the Sea—a peaceful fine art painting inspired by one of my own Gulf Shores photographs.
It wasn't just an image anymore. It had a story.
What Makes a Great Prompt?I've found that the best prompts usually include these ingredients:
Subject
Who or what is the focus?
Story
What is happening?

Tell the AI what NOT to include.
Sometimes this is just as important.
My Workflow
Today my process looks like this:
- An idea pops into my head.
- I discuss the idea with ChatGPT.
- We improve it together.
- ChatGPT writes a detailed Kre8tor prompt.
- I generate a versions.
- We critique the results.
- I remix until it feels finished. (or i' decide I've just used too many credits - lol!)
The AI isn't replacing my creativity. It's helping me develop it.
The Biggest SurpriseThe biggest surprise has been discovering that ChatGPT doesn't just help me write prompts. It helps me think. Sometimes it suggests ideas I never would have imagined. Other times it asks questions that force me to slow down and discover what I really want the artwork to say. I've learned to take more time and consider if that's the version I want to submit to challenges or use for my task (often a POD product for my Shop). That's become my favorite part of the creative process.
Final ThoughtsIf you're using Kre8tor.ai—or any image generator—don't overlook ChatGPT or your own ai tool. Treat it like your creative partner.
- Share your idea.
- Talk it through.
- Ask for suggestions.
- Challenge each other's ideas.
You may discover, as I did, that the best images don't begin with better AI. They begin with better conversations.
