A Simple Trick That Makes Blogging on Your Phone Much Easier

In my last WA blog post, I confessed something…

Infographic for 5 challenges of blogging on your phoneBecause of my bad back, I often have to work on my blogs from my cell phone instead of my desktop computer. For someone who can type pretty fast on a regular keyboard, trying to write blog posts on a phone can feel like torture.

  • Tiny keyboard.
  • Constant typos.
  • Autocorrect turning normal words into something embarrassing. (Yes… I’m still recovering from my “list turned into lust” incident in the WA community.)

But recently I started using a simple trick that helps a lot.

And the best part is… You probably already have it on your phone.

The Secret: Use Voice Dictation

Instead of typing everything with your fingers, you can talk and your phone writes the words for you. Most smartphones today have very good voice dictation built into the keyboard. All you have to do is tap the little microphone icon 🎤 on the keyboard and start speaking. Your phone will automatically convert your speech into text.

It feels a little strange at first, but once you get used to it, it’s surprisingly fast.

A Few Helpful Voice Commands

You can even tell the phone what punctuation to use. Just say things like:

  • period
  • comma
  • question mark
  • new paragraph

For example you might say:

“Blogging from my phone is harder than I expected comma but I am still getting it done period new paragraph.”

And the phone types it out for you.

Why This Is Great for Bloggers

Using voice typing can make blogging from your phone much easier because:

  • You can write much faster
  • Your hands don’t get tired
  • You avoid the tiny keyboard mistakes
  • Your ideas flow more naturally

Then when you’re finished, you can quickly edit the text before publishing.

A Little Trick Many Bloggers Use

Here’s a workflow many bloggers use when working from their phone.

  • 1Open the Notes app on your phone
  • Dictate the whole article using voice typing
  • Quickly fix any mistakes
  • Copy and paste it into WordPress or Wealthy Affiliate

This avoids fighting with the small keyboard inside the editor.

One Warning 😄

Voice dictation is great, but it can still create some funny mistakes. So always read through your post once before publishing. Otherwise affiliate marketing advice might turn into something completely different.

Trust me… autocorrect has already embarrassed me once.

Final Thought

One thing I’ve learned while building my online business is this: You don’t always need perfect conditions. Sometimes progress happens while:

• typing with one finger

• blogging from your phone

• fixing tech problems

• learning as you go

And that’s okay. Because progress still counts…

Even if it happens one finger (or one voice command) at a time.
