I haven't been here for a few months. I have been exploring a variety of gig opportunities with Wealthy Affiliate and my blogs taking back seat. But, now I am ready to return and share my insights, missteps, and plan for the future. I am eager to get back into the swing and learn from all of you as well. Glad to be back.

I am celebrating Christmas with my family. We went to church last night, opened a few gifts and are now waiting to all be ready to visit my brother in law and finish opening presents and eating yet more food. 2016 has a been a difficult year for me and I am so glad for this time of celebration, reflection, and intention for the New Year. I guess you could really do this at any point but for some reason it has particular meaning for me this year. In the past, I would work at one job location for

I got a note saying I have been here six months. That is amazing to me. I have learned so much and gained a whole new vocabulary. I continue to struggle with getting referrals and product placement, but I have a small but devoted following for my blog. It will only get better. Susan

I realized that I tend to do things in cycles. I lose weight, I gain weight. I work my sites, I ignore my sites. There are very few things that generate a sustained effort. Thinking about this makes me wonder why. Is it the immediacy that we have been promised through the internet that creates the expectation of immediate success? Or at least immediate access? Is it part of my childhood in seeking new experiences but not wanting to give up on treasures? Perhaps just considering the nature of th

So, what's been going on with you? I have been missing for about a month and it shows on my sites, my traffic and my ranking. Time to get back in the game. While Wealthy Affiliate is all about working your plan, I was unable to pay my bills without having a steady income. I have been applying for positions and coming up short. Too old, over qualified, not the right qualifications....all that. Finally, have secured employment so I can get back to working my plan for Wealthy Affiliate. Now, I rea

So, nothing to do with Wealthy Affiliate but...I am on several groups for parents of children with disabilities. One of the recent discussions asked if parents had told their children that they have a disability. It got pretty heated as some people said children should just be happy and not have a label. Some said children will use a label as an excuse to not do work. Others said that a label creates a way for other kids to bully them. Most of these parents had kids that were under 10.I have be

After viewing the recent training on using Buffer, I finally scheduled my first share with it. It worked great with Facebook though it didn't work that well with LinkedIn. I tried to link with Instagram but I couldn't remember my passwords from my computer to get it on my phone! Guess that is lesson number two - either write the passwords down somewhere or use the same one everywhere. Buffer has several levels of membership but I am not ready to commit to their Awesome level yet, about $100 a y

This year has been extraordinarily stressful. I lost my job and needed to regroup. My son graduated from college and moved to a different city. My younger son started high school. Some things have gone great, others are at least over. Wealthy Affiliate gave me some positive opportunities to focus on while rebuilding my life. Over the last few weeks, I have been moving furniture almost daily. It left me exhausted and I didn't pay much attention to my sites. Now that school has started, people a

People typically understand the physical aspect of strength training. Using weights or your own body to develop muscles and increase your strength. However, did you know that you have other type of strengths? The Gallup Strengths Center has put together material on how to identify your talents to develop them into strengths. Their research proves that people succeed when they focus on what they do best. When I have taken the survey, I have Relator, Input, Responsibility. Intellection and Arrang

I really don't know how y'all do living in the south or warmer climates. I love the fall and winter months and appreciate the summer. But this summer is just hot and humid. I used to go to Louisiana during July (yeah, I know) for a month to stay with my cousins while my parents travelled. While we don't have the gigantic bugs here in the Midwest, it feels just the same. This has caused my brain to melt. I am losing momentum with my content for now. But, I know that it will change soon enough. I
