LinkedIn Nightmare
Have you started being flooded with people who want you to accept them on LinkedIn? Don’t be surprised if tons of people have received an accept request from you, without your knowledge.
LinkedIn appears to me to be making a huge push for linked members. When I started getting emails saying my request to be LinkedIn to certain people had been refused, it didn’t take long for me to realize that it was LinkedIn trying to fool people into thinking the request was coming from me. Also, If you accept one of those requests from someone else, it automatically sends that person an accept request from you. Plus, “many” people, including some I don’t know, were requesting to be accepted all of a sudden.
It started to become a nightmare so I decided to shut down my account. But, that was not the end of it. I kept getting accept requests and messages from LinkedIn. Luckily, I use Gmail so I created a filter to remove anything from LinkedIn.

I've got about 2,500 Linkedin contacts and have been reposting all my site posts there, so they get a notice that I posted. Probably a dozen have become engaged enough to send me comment emails after a post. I remain convinced that this platform has great marketing potential, if I ever figure out just how. I know they're all super sensitive to spam and you can't just try to sell them anything and I don't really have time to build 2,500 great relationships.
Anybody have any great strategies ?
I think with all large networks you can only do good posts and share them in your network, if you have G+ they have stuff that your can share to the public not sure if Linkedin can do that
By creating a useful content, I know these people will grow to trust you. You can also do an article that you can write and offer them to download for free, this will help a lot in building trust with these people eventually you will win their trust.
I had that same problem happen to me. I just delete them all and not reply. I had a few of my friends call me up wandering if I send them a request for linkedIn. They are using your email list to send request. It can be a pain. I understand your nightmare.
Hi - yeah, it also periodically asks people linked to you, to endorse you.
I suppose it's good in a way, as it keeps your profile current - and gets real people to say you have particular skills etc and as LinkedIn is a "professional" (ie. real career people and organisations looking for particular skills) network, it fits in with what they are about.
That said, I have seen a ton of SPAM emails, reporting to be from linkedin - which clearly aren't.
