Goodbye LinkedIn

I am sure that many of you have found that suddenly you are being bombarded by people asking you to add them to your LinkedIn contacts. Many of my friends and I have. The trouble is that this is all bogus. Fake. It is a scam by LinkedIn.

My beef is more than just dishonesty by LinkedIn trying to make you believe your friends are contacting you. I want to know how in the heck LinkedIn got all my friends' email addresses. Obviously, they are stealing them from my email account. LinkedIn is as dishonest as it is useless. I deleted my account.

    1.Logon your account.

    2.https://www.linkedin.com/settings

3.3. When your "Account & Settings" webpage displays click the "Account" link on the left column and then click the "Close account" on the right column.

Regards

Dave

Hey, I deleted my account recently too, for the same reasons.

1

Your post title attracted my attention because I recently got a few emails saying that X, Y, Z wanted to add me to their LinkedIn network. The thing is I have no idea who these people are. I do not even have a LinkedIn account although I have had a couple of real professional friends ask me to join their network. Wonder if this is how LinkedIn got hold of my email address.

Sorry to hear about your disgust with Linkedin. I find it acceptable. The site I am tired of is facebook. Deleted it quite a while back.

While others may have had trouble with Linkedin or any other social media, it is exactly the opposite for me. Linkedin is generally a professional website you can showcase yourself. It is here where I got my professional works and had strong network of great people. An awesome place to be!
Will be fully utilising it too for my biz. Thanks.

Interesting, thanks!

Thanks, Shawn. The thing is, how did they get my email contacts? I had about 3 in LinkedIn but I ended up get emails from the majority of people I have in my regular email address book. That, I don't appreciate. Regards

Thanks for the share, Dave. You saved me the trouble of joining them.
Cheer up !

What is LinkedIn? :P
hahaha just kidding
Thanks for the heads up.

I do not like LinkedIn. People can be very mean on that site. I don't understand its purpose.

Are you sure you didn't inadvertently select to add your email list of friends, there is a box that pops up and asks this question.
My sister works for ITT Tech and they use it for recruiting all the time.
Also, that is where I found out about WA as well.

2

Nope. I created the account a couple of years ago but NEVER used it or even logged in.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. :)

Hi. Never cared for linkedin.com myself, so I can understand your frustration with this! Very deceitful, if they are getting email addresses from you illegally. Thanks for giving the heads up on this. :)
