Clearing Cloudy Glass - Harley Gauges

Thought I would share a simple glass cleaning/clearing trick that worked for me. Among the numerous articles I read on the subject, one recommended toothpaste, especially the whitening kind.

I was desperate as I mistakenly thought my Harley gauges had plastic lenses and now had messed up my speedo. The product for plastic I used to remove a scratch abraded the glass leaving it cloudy. I grabbed my toothpaste (mine happened to be Crest Pro) and, using a soft cloth, began to polish the glass. You have to keep the toothpaste in a wet slurry. (spit works well) Gently rub the glass in circular motions and you should find your glass become much clearer and transparent again.

CAUTION/HINT - If you are cleaning gauges, put some tape over the painted metal bezels holding the glass for protection. Small scratches and scuffs on the glass around your home might be salvageable too. Worked like a charm for me.
