For a long time, I thought good content was about creativity .
A nice visual
A good caption
Something interesting to say.
Sometimes it's not the content itself that makes something work.
It's the psychology behind it .
Most people don't stop scrolling because something is technically "good"
They stop because something:
- sparks curiosity
- feels relatable
- creates emotion
- feels personally relevant
The reaction happens first.
Logic usually comes after.
The first few seconds matter more than people realise.
Why? - Because attention is emotional before it's rational.
People pause for things that:

- surprise them
- challenge something they believe
- make them curious
- feel immediately relevant
That's why stronger hooks work better.
Not only because they're trendy - but because they tap into human behaviour.
One thing marketing taught me is people trust what feels familiar
That's why:
- repeated messaging works
- consistency matters
- certain creators feel “trusted” over time
Even before someone consciously realises it.
Even when people think they’re making rational choices, emotion is usually involved somewhere.
People engage because something resonates.
People trust because something feels familiar.
People buy because something feels right.
Then later, they justify it logically.
You can create something visually great.
But if there’s no:
- relevance
- emotion
- curiosity
- behavioural understanding
People move on quickly.
Because psychology is what makes content stick.
Now when I create content, I think less about:
“does this look good?”
And more about:
“what is this making someone feel, think, or do?”
Because content alone isn’t the full story.
The psychology behind it is what gives it power.
