Two weeks after launching my sitepage 1 on Google!

My site is www.beautifulballetflats.com and I've been checking its progress in Google on a daily basis. I was concerned that typing the search term 'beautiful ballet flats' didn't bring my site up on page 1. After all, the search term precisely matches my domain name. I couldn't find my site in the first ten pages of a search - how frustrating!

I've noticed over the last fortnight a couple of my individual posts have made it to page 4 of Google, which is encouraging. Today the site itself is on page 3 of Google for the search term 'beautiful ballet flats'. Yay! :-)

It gets better. Just now I did two Google searches on the terms 'Ziera ballet flats review' and "Ziera wide ballet flats", which are the topic of one of my recent posts. To my delight I am on page 1, the third and second result respectively out of more the 18,000 results. Granted, not a LOT of people search for these specific terms, but Ziera shoes has quite a following among people looking for shoes which are stylish but built for comfort.

Interestingly, it's my Google+ post with the link to my web post that's ranking me on page 1.

This proves the power of doing social media and doing it right. As Kyle teaches us, using Google+ and getting yourself set up as an author on Google+ is key to assisting our Google rankings.

Another of my posts is on page 7 of Google today. So what? But… it's one of the first blog sites showing under the search. Most of the results before it are all shops and stockists.

After only two weeks I'm happy with my site's progress even if it hasn't earned me a cent yet.

Now I've got this far, it's my promise to myself to keep the momentum up and keep providing good regular content.
