Hey guys! I hope you're all doing good. I have an idea I would like to share with you and I think some of you might eventually like it. Since I wasn't able to refer a sale through one of my Amazon Associates links yet and the 180-day deadline is almost due (at the beginning of February), I was wondering if some of you are willing to help me and other people who are in the same situation. Whether you need to purchase an item on amazon or know someone who wants to buy something any time soon, just let me know in the comments and I would be forever grateful! I'm fully aware of the fact that I can re-register as an amazon affiliate, but I don't think I have that much time, energy or patience to update every single amazon affiliate link on my blog. I really really really really do not agree with Amazon's policy of cancelling affiliate membership when a sale is not made within 180 days.
All that hard work of generating traffic to their sites and helping build and maintain their global reach, rendered useless by such a short time span. Because 180 days really is a short time span in affiliate marketing. We've learnt that building one's reach takes time and the benefits will be reaped a year from now. That policy of Amazon enables Amazon to enjoy the fruits of your labour, and keep 100% commission of any sales that may eventuate from old links you've placed out there.
So theoretically, I love your idea. I do not find it cheating when the Amazon sellers will be getting sales to their products any way.
But one of Amazon's policy is they frown on sales from family members and friends. This is yet another policy I find unfair and am totally against!
So people may not want to openly participate in this plan as it may jeopardise their Amazon affiliate membership.
