Do You Consider Yourself an Introvert?

Hi everyone!

If you clicked on this blog because of the title, then chances are you probably do consider yourself an introvert.

This is a sort of mini-experiment. If you would like to participate, all you have to do is answer a few questions. The only rule is that you must only share your OWN true experiences (not someone else's).

Feel free to share as much or as little as you'd like.

1. What does being an 'introvert' mean to you?

2. Do you think your personality style had an influence on why you were drawn to online business?

3. Can you think of a time when your personality style helped you be successful? How about a time that it held you back?

P.S.

I want to hear some different perspectives. If you know someone who you think would like to weigh in on this discussion, please pass this on!

Not sure if your "experimentt" is still running, but I couldn't resist replying :)

1. Introverts analyse everything before taking action. We think deeply and talk cautiously. Analysing everything is mentally exhausting, so we are easily overstimulated. We replenish our energy levels by spending time alone, thus the reputation for being antisocial loners.

2. Absolutely. As someone who enjoys thinking about things and learning new skills I was very much drawn to an occupation where I could learn, implement my learnings and review the effect based on my own needs and interests and in my own time. Plus, communicating primarily through blog posts means I get to think about my words. No sudden need to speak without preparation!

3. My personality style has been very helpful at work. My managers would call me "still waters run deep". I wouldn't say much in meetings, but on the odd occasion that I did say something it was thoroughly thought out and precise. Managers love that and almost all my ideas would be used. My personality has held me back when I've had roles involving spontaneity. I hate making snap decisions and when asked to do so I very quickly lose my confidence and it can take days to get my groove back.

1. An Introvert is a person not comfortable around people or not trusting of others. Very shy and uncomfortable especially around larger groups of people.

2. My personality style (which is definitely introvert) definitely had an influence on why I was drawn to an online business because it seems I do better communicating with people online than face to face though my introvertness does come out in the online world too.

3. I would say my personality has held me back from many things as I'm afraid of embarrassing myself around others and worried I would fail. I know there are positions and jobs I've avoided because of my personality. Can't really think of a major time it has helped me be successful though coming here and learning how to create an online business could be a success :)

I am but at times I am very social. I become an introvert with confronted with groups.

#1 An introvert is someone who internalises their thoughts and feelings rather than exposing themselves.

#2 I am not sure my personality drew me to internet marketing. I was trading the FX markets and that was definitely an escape from dealing with people.

#3 This habit held me back in the corporate world. Particularly with team meetings and conferences. I was an area manager for a large company and did very well managing our contractors because this was more of a one on one role. I could not play the corporate role and suck up to the bosses, unfortunately, this held me back.

I am for sure!
1. An introvert is someone who maybe doesn't engage in social activities as often as an extrovert. They usually prefer to spend time alone working on their hobbies than out partying and socializing. Introverts sometimes can be shy and quiet.

2. Yes definitely! I first picked up network marketing to get myself out of my comfort zone and although I'm still involved in it I ventured out to affiliate marketing because i don't have to recruit people.

3. My personality type allows me to be an observer and a great listener. I would rather listen to someone talk than have to talk. On the other hand, I feel that I have missed out on good opportunities because I wanted to avoid too much socializing and constantly being around people.

Thanks so much for sharing! This is just the type of response I was hoping for.

I can totally relate to this post :)
