Pain is Progress so Progress through the Pain

We all go through the process of change, transformation, and metamorphosis during our journey of life. These processes will happen whether we want them or not. The body will change whether we want it to or not. The 5 year old body is different from the 14 year old body such as the 30 year old to the 65 year old. Change is natural. Progress is a choice. We as people are gifted with the ability to choose from one or the other. The problem is whether or not you accept the ability as gift or a curse.

Imagine if you will a caterpillar who is born a caterpillar and everyday has lived as a caterpillar. Being unnoticed because it crawls below the eyesight of most only worrying about the occasional insect eating animal and the foot of a man or woman. Most people do not notice or think about caterpillars until they are in our line of sight. We don't eat them, most don't fear them, and they cause no harm to us for the most part. What if that caterpillar decides it does not want to become a butterfly? What if all caterpillars decide to not become a butterfly because they will easily be noticed? Bright colors. Flying everywhere. It is comfortable being a caterpillar. Wouldn't the world be missing out on one of the most beautiful harmless ( mostly to humans) and enigmatic creatures? What if the caterpillar dreaded having crawling to the proper area, cocooning and transforming for weeks to change itself? We would lose out on a wonderful being.

We as people do not change so drastically in the physical but we change character, mindset, traits, social habits, etc... more often than the animals that go through metamorphosis in one lifetime. A big transformation comes with a woman's pregnancy. Physically, socially, maturation, or lifestyle period. What if women suddenly decided to no longer have children because they didn't want to gain weight, go through the pain of child birth, the after effects of child birth, breast feeding and the likes? We could not see many more generations of our kind. I bring up child birth because it is a painstaking and life transforming event in the life of a man and woman. The sacrifice to bring another life into this world, nurture it, protect it, provide for it, teach it, and all responsibilities that come with it. The wonders of procreation that lead us to being mothers and fathers is a progression in our lives as well as in the lives of the world. The parents of Martin Luther King Jr., Thomas Edison, Nicola Tesla, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Malcolm X, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Banneker had no idea how their children would shape the world and nor did those people I named have a clue into what their legacy would be. Life forces change but it is the decision of the person to make it progressive.

People like to say life isn't fair but that isn't true. Life is just in all its ways. We must live in a world that is unjust but it is not the world that has bestowed the gifts we receive at birth. The right to choose who, what, why, and how one will be. The world is tough and unforgiving. Negative and pessimistic but facing it with the faith and understanding that you are just as unique as any person in the history books is a decision to be progressive. We go through pain, heart ache, ridicule, dismay, misfortune, let downs, and plan bad luck but so does every person that lives in this world. Life is a gift that we present to the world. If the people I named had chosen not to present their life as a progressive force for change where would we be today? Are you allowing the troubles of the world to keep your gift from being presented to progress the lives you touch? Do not worry because you have the ability to change it right now. I choose to present my life as a gift of progress to each and every soul I come in contact with because I am the butterfly. I am giving birth to new life every time I decide to progress through the pain and the hurt. Pain comes with change. Hard times come with pain. When you progress through it the first life you change will be yours but it won't be the last.
