Yoast related problem

I have installed the free Yoast SEO on my site. I have had only good experience with the plugin, but lately I have had issues with a couple of posts.

The problem is the following messgas:

  • Your keyword is not in the first paragraph
  • Your keyword in not in an any headings with H2
  • Your keyword density is 0% which is a bit low...

The wordings above is not verbatime from the plug in but it summarises the meaning of the messages received.

But I copied the key phrase from Yoast, and put it directly into the headlines and text where I had used the keyword phrase. But still I get the same results. Have anybody else experienced the same and in case is there an explanation and a fix?

Should I report this to Yoast as well?

It takes time to understand and how to ply and get it right -
When you have your blank page put you H2 phrase first then
Next line make sure you are in paragraph mode type in your phrase
Then start writing as you can always go back and fine adjust
Make sure you have the phrase exactly the same as keyword just copy and paste and make sure you hit enter every time
Took me two weeks of playing to find this trick but now all green

Thanks Paul, that's a nifty trick! I'll make use of it on my next post and see if pans out like this for me as well.

As I say you will get there n the end and all my blogs with Yoast are ranking and with SRO not same way behind

Hi Paul a short update. I followed your advice and went through the post using copy and paste of the keyword phrase. Result - all green!

Thanks a lot!!

great to hear

I had this exact same problem. I just got rid of Yoast and went back to All-in-one SEO. If the plugin can't see keywords when they're right on the page, then I can't see the value of it.

Besides, I don't think we need Yoast. I just made a checklist of the things that Yoast looks for so I can do my own manual checks. Works for me.

Thanks Hanish, but this has happened only on 3 posts for me,the rest is OK. So did you have it for all the posts or only a few?

This was just with one post but it got to me because I gave Yoast every opportunity to fix the problem. I updated the post again and again. I left the page and came back to refresh it. Deleted and re-entered keywords. Nothing.

But I've also read that Kyle advises against using Yoast and that a lot of other people here second that.

I don't know. Paul's suggestions above look good so maybe keep at it a while longer and see if things get better. If not though, remember it's an easy process to just switch back to All-in-One SEO.

Hamish, I have resolved the Yoast problem, as the suggestion from Paul did work. I got all green from both posts. Something to think about.

That's good to hear, Rolf. I hope it works well from now on.
