My first month at Wealthy Affiliate

It's my first month at WA and my first blog post. I can say it has been an amazing experience so far. So much, that I have to tell myself as a self-employed person to throttle back a bit on the WA training, and make sure I continue to do the work that is already paying the bills. It's easy to let WA training and this new business take over, but I must keep in mind it doesn't happen overnight.

Of course, my goal is to learn from WA, promote myself, promote WA(why not, they pay better than most), and supplement or replace my current businesses. I've worked in the online world since 2001 and I've always known that affiliate programs make money, but this is the first time I stumbled across a training program (for <$1 a day) that I thought would help me succeed.

With just a little bit of training, I have created a blog site that ranked #5 first page on google within the first couple weeks when searching the title, and 2 posts ranked on page 2. Exciting stuff! Using another member's methods, I created a facebook fan page that quickly accumulated 50+ likes in a couple days, and this directed a bunch of traffic to my new site. My amazon affiliate account shows 1 purchase, but unfortunately the item has not been shipped yet, so no commission so far.

Doesn't matter, I can see this community works.

I also sent a couple people emails to tell them about WA and included an affiliate link, and I posted a good Wordpress article written by a top WA member on facebook. WA provides traffic stats and I could see that I had some interest with 6 unique clicks and 8 clicks total. Something to keep in mind, I only have a couple hundred facebook friends consisting of close friends and family. I know most of you have many more fb friends.

None of these clicks signed up yet, but I know at least 1 is interested and WA gives a lifetime cookie, which means after they click your link you get credit whenever they decide to sign up as long as the cookie has not been removed one way or another.

Again, I can see this community works. It just takes time and hard work.

Obviously, I have made $0 so far, but I have spent very little and learned a lot. I have been in a much better mood since joining this community, and have high hopes for all of us.
