Those of you that have followed my ramblings on WA know that I built a web site for my buddy Dave to get my feet wet, and was pleasantly surprised when it generated a couple of $$ for both of us. Oh, and as a bonus, it generated a bottle of red wine from Dave who said, and I quote, "there will be a lot more where that came from if that site keeps working." I wanted to include that quote in a post so I can send him a link in case there is a need to refresh his memory at a future point in time. :) Anyway, now it's time for me to build a web site of my own. The following are some ideas I've been playing with. I covet your comments, and, if one of these stands out to you, would you "vote" for it? Trying to decide which way to go, and that will help.

startingoverwithnothing.com. This would be a blog that chronicles my efforts to start my life over after going broke, my third failed marriage, a felony conviction and a few other things. I think there are others in my shoes who might find inspiration by watching someone trying to make that kind of a comeback in real time, and possibly benefit from some ideas the web site produces (WA being one of them). The flavor of the content would be real and raw, detailing successes, setbacks, emotions, etc. To be honest it makes me a little nervous hanging myself out there like that, but I heard someone say once that "everything you ever wanted is located just outside of your comfort zone," which kind of makes sense I think. I would create some of my own products, have a paid members section and provide affiliate products worthy of my readers to derive income and overcome challenges.

ranchbronc.com. My son competes in rodeos riding in the ranch bronc event. I'ts a relatively new event (a few years old) that's been gaining popularity. It's more of a purist event if you will... real cowboys riding in working saddles. I obviously have in interest in the event and attend a lot of rodeo's to support my son. Content would be about the event and about the people who partici[pate in the event. Income would be dirived from rodeo gear, western wear, and related affiliate products. If I may take a moment to brag, here's a shot of him on a horse named Californio. He took 2nd place at the National finals on the horse...

hondatrail90.com. It's an old trail bike that Honda made back in the 60's and 70's. I cut my teeth (legs, arms, lips, hands, knees, head) on one of these when I was a kid, and they've kind of been making a comeback as classics. Very popular with hunters, motor homers and kids use them as retro comuters in town as they are sturdy and get around 100 mpg. Not 100% sure how I would monetize the web site though and an abundance of content might be hard to create. I just like 'em.

aerialcamerareviews.com. Pretty straightforward. If it flies and takes photo's or video's, I review it. Income would be generated from affiliate products. I have a buddy who designs these things and might be able to get my foot in the door with his company. Would love to get one of these to the rodeo!

votefortheantichrist.com. Nero, Hitler, Kennedy, Obama, the Pope, Prince William... from the day they flipped the switch and turned on the Internet, it's been a buzz with people speculating about the identity of the person, people or entity destined to become the "antichrist". The site would allow users to speculate and cast their vote as to who or what it might be. Sure to create controversial and lively discussions, with the opportunity to provide everything from prophecty books and movies to t-shirts as affiliate products.

listwithmeandsellforfree.com. A membership web site for real estate brokers who wish to employ a strategy (and other tools) I successfully used during my real estate career. Income could be generated both from membership sales as well as affiliate products designed for real estate brokers. To be honest, this web site might require more talent than I have to build, and may have to sit on the sidelines until I can get some $$ together to built it, but I think it has potential (1% of almpst 2 million real estate borkers in the USA @ $XX per month).

swingtradepicks.com. Years ago I traded equities, and I was quite good at it... no brag, just fact. To be perfectly honest, I would be trading now if I had the money (and it does require quite a bit of money) as it's an excellent way to make a living from home, albeit a bit boring and I hate sitting on my butt all morning. This site would provide stock picks based on a method that almost no one uses anymore (sort of my own little secret, but involves a telephone and actually talkiing to certain people on it), but worked really well for me. Revenue would come from monthly membership fees and affiliate products. I would also review other stock pick services to generate affiliate income from those not suited for my site, who might have interest in other methods of trading.

I have several other ideas if that I might throw out there if these ideas do not receive positive feedback.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND VOTES! I will return the favor....

Thanks Wade. I like your crisp clean response. Definitely helps me out.

I like this one: aerialcamerareviews.com because it would be interesting to keep coming back to and see what new videos have been posted. I have a friend that started a business using these cameras to shoot commercial videos and they are pretty cool.

My vote is for ranchbronc.com. Being one of the first in on a new niche is awesome. The topic is hyper focused so I'm going to suspect it will generate traffic that is mostly fan based and would get a decent following.

Starting over sounds good, the Bronc Rider sounds good, I really like the aerial camera review, you could start with any of these and expand later.

Thanks Dave. I appreciate your feedback! Do you have a favorite? One that strikes you a bit more than the others?

I personally feel that the BRAND NEW industry spawned from the technology of drones will be a major hot button for the next 5-10 years. What's the FAA going to do, how do you fly one, where to get lessons etc.etc. will be massive in the near future. I would like to work on this one in the future as well.

Good insight. I agree. To me they are kind of cool and scary all at the same time. Have you seen the one that's integrated with google maps and interfaces with your smart phone, tablet or pc? You can program autopilot runs in detail whjch take pilot error out of the equasion. Pretty cool stuff comming down the line.

Thanks again Dave...

That's wicked! At the moment I'm trying to grasp WA, I'll have to start my research on those in the fairly near future-oh and buy one to play with.....from proceeds from WA naturally!

Haha!... Pefect! Keep i touch Dave.

You bet!

I say go for them all one at a time would be the best strategy. They all would need Google OK t before you monetize is my comment

Thank you Kenny. Much appreciated.

Startingoverwithnothing, com is a great idea thought about this one myself about older folks re-careering. Ranchbronc.com is good too especially if that particular event catches on you'll be cutting edge. Hondatrail90 has a special place in my heart I started on a Trail 70 back in the day and it's funny the Honda dealer in my town that closed down 30 years ago just opened back up selling these so they are making a come back maybe monetize it selling hard to find parts, bikes, maybe start a membership/club.Aerialcamerareviews.com is also a good one this is what I started with till my distributer ripped me off(they are the antichrist)good for hunters and campers too. Real estate and finance are always good ones. You got some great ideas brah, and I'll be sure to patronize your sites. I also will be sure to ask you for plenty of help and advice. Keep on keeping on.

Thanks Brez. Had to chuckle at your AC remark. That's funny. Really appreciate your detailed response. Which I could like you twice. :)

Roc,

I think they are all excellent ideas!

I'd have to agree with snrholt, though. I think you would probably do best with that site, as it would touch a lot more people.

As far as figuring out how to monetize the hondatrail site, would you maybe consider just being an affiliate for honda products or maybe just motorcycle parts in general?

My other 2 favorites would be the listwithmeforfree and the swingtradepicks. That's just me, though, because I am passionate about business and investing too (along with marketing of course) :)

Best of luck to you, my friend. Hope this helps! :)

Tom

Thaks Tom. I appreciate your detailed response. Definately helps me out and increases my confindence. Very best to you.

As far as making money I like aerialcamerareviews.com as it is relatively new but also like startingoverwithnothing.com as this affects a lot of people including me.

Thanks Traveller. I appreciate your feedback. Best...

I really like startingoverwithnothing, this hits a cord with a large base of Americans and folk in 3rd world nations who are struggling just to survive.

My second pick is ranchbronc.com.
The third one being aerialcamera.com.

Thank you Rex, I appreciate your feedback. It helps!

startingoverwithnothing.com
I think this is a great choice.

Thanks Ken. I appreciate your input.

Thanks Ken. Already own the .com.

Perfect, I could see it was parked at Godaddy.

Ken - You checked GoDaddy...

Yes I did Debbie.
I have used GoDaddy for years now.

Me too. I like that a 12 year old kid can fix my web problem when I call 24/7. Okay, they sound 12!!! I think kids are born knowing the technology today.
