Although sometimes this can accidentally happen, there is usually very little reason to change a page => post or the other way around. A page and a post are in essence the same thing and as your website scale out, your menus will be managed with custom menus.
Posts are preferrable at that point simply because they will go to your blog roll, they have comments by default, and they tend to get indexed much quicker as a result (of being part of your blog roll).
