In a Rut? Just Can't Think of Any Ideas or Feel Overwhelmed? What Do You Do?

When I hit that mental brick wall, and just feel like I am struggling with focusing and start bouncing around looking at different social media platforms looking for something to free my mind up (but its just doom scrolling). I stop, walk away from the screen, and do something physical, and give the brain a break. For me, that is hit the weights, do some cardio, get that heart pumping, and get a great workout in.

It works wonders, when in a rut, I can just focus on working out, tire out the muscles just completely focus on pushing to failure, and then go and have a delicious, healthy post workout meal. Its my reset button, my head clears up, all those overwhelming thoughts are gone and it gets me back on track.

I use this as my way to reset mentally, and not only clears my mind out I am benefitting from the exercise. It is such a great stress relief. What do you all do to just reset during this online business journey?

I'm certainly with you in regards to working out when the brain needs a reset Rich...

I try my best to hit the running machine at least five times a week first thing in the morning (well, after my dogs needs have been taken care of first of course)!!

It is indeed great stress relief and sets us up well for the rest of the day!!

Enjoy a productive start to your weekend my friend! :-)

Hi Rich
Related to this is the fact that we can only focus deeply for a limited time that for most people is something between 25 minutes or so and an hour. I use an app on my iPhone that whistles and tells me the time every hour. When the whistle sounds, it reminds me to take a break and I use about 10 minutes to do something different away from the screen to give my brain a break. I often use mindfulness or some form of light exercise.

I tend to go on a long walk with my dog. Sometimes I'll listen to music, an audiobook or a podcast to try to refocus. Other times I just walk with my thoughts!!

Sometimes you just need to get away from the screen and reset

Exercise is a great way to re building your mind and body. I think meditation and pranayam is also a great way to boost yourself and to get the positive welling power from inside.
Thank you .

I will either walk to my mailbox or take a drive and listen to an audiobook to reset.

How far away is your mailbox?

LOL, just a few houses down, but it gets me moving.

I was thinking you had a really long drive or the mailbox was in town!!

Well, I do take long drives. And I also drive to the post office every day. But, I do get up and stretch and walk around when I've been on the computer too long.
