Paypal Virus - Beware !
Just a quick post, I received an e-mail from Paypal today stating that there was £233.77 paid into my accoount. The e-mail looked genuine ! there were no spelling mistakes and all the usual Paypal details etc. were there.
It was also from "service at paypal dot com" -
It all looked fine. It was however in my Junk File which should have warned me !
Now I think I am quite savvy when it comes to fake e-mails but I did not spot this.
There was a link to "Download Transaction File" which I did press ! - Lucky enough Chrome itself saw that it was a virus and stopped the file being downloaded. Pheeew !!
So if you do get an e-mail from Paypal that may be out of the blue, I would recommend that you do not press the link obviously, just go to your Paypal account as normal and sign in, to see if it is genuine.
I was lucky,
Be careful out there, All the best Richie

Yep ... the online crooks population is growing. That's a great feature that Chrome provides.
Thanks for sharing this, Richie. I appreciate when others share these types of things so we know what to watch out for!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
Thanks for the warning. I never reply to junk email unless I'm sure it's an email from a company that I know.

At this stage the odds of a legitimate email from PayPal landing in your spam folder would be about a billion to one.
Scammers are getting so cleaver with their craft.
Thanks for the heads up.
