Dealing with war news can be emotionally challenging, as it often involves distressing and disheartening information. Here are some strategies to help you cope with war -related news:

  1. If you can LIMIT Exposure: It is essential to stay informed, but excessive exposure to distressing news can be overwhelming. SET BOUNDARIES on how much time you spend consuming content. My son-in-law is a grandson of a Holocaust survivor and I have heard first hand stories of survival. Listening to it was heartbreaking enough and hard not think of over and over again. So I had to do different levels of Meditation to UNCLUTTER my mind and refresh some memory so I can start with this WA business online.
  2. CHOOSE TRUSTED SOURCES: Select reputable news sources known for their accurate and balanced reporting.AVOID sensationalism and unreliable outlets that may amplify fear or anxiety. I was watching the videos on the internet about the Hamas attacked in Israel and just to find out there were some FAKED videos posted and was monetized on. Millions of views. It is such a shame that someone would capitalize on such disheartening events going on and worst even mislead people on false information.
  3. BALANCE YOUR MEDIA DIET: Diversify your news sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the situation. Mix in positive or neutral news. Pay attention to your emotional reactions, and take breaks if you are feeling overwhelmed.
  4. STAY INFORMED BUT MINDFUL: While staying informed is imporatnt, be mindful of how you consume news. PAY ATTENTIONS to your emotional reactions, and take breaks if you start feeling overwhelmed.
  5. DISCUSS AND SHARE: Engage in constructive discussions with friends, family,or support groups to share your feelings and gain different perspectives on the news. It can help you process the emotions.
  6. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL: Realize that you may not have direct influence over the situation. Instead, focus on actions you can take, such as humanitarian organizations and advocating peace. This is the reaon I am doing my first blog ever...LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH!!!I know it is very hard to love your enemy as you love yourselves, I pray for enlightenment; peace and righteousness. LOVE over WAR.
  7. PRACTICE- SELF CARE: Engage in self-care activities that help manage stress, such as exercise , meditation, deep breathing, or mindfulness practices.
  8. SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP: If you find that war related news is significantly affecting your mental health and well-being,consider speaking to a mental health professional who can provide guidance and support.
  9. TAKE ACTION: If you are passionate about conflict resolution and peace , consider getting involved in organizations or initiatives that work towards peaceful solutions to global conflicts.

Remember that is is entirely normal to be affected emotionally dy distressing news, especially concerning war and conflict. It's essential to prioritize your mental and emotional well-being and seek support when needed.

What a timely post! when Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake I became so emotionally overwhelmed that I stopped watching news altogether. I was part of a group that put together survivor packs, and I remained active, but I donated my tv to a women's shelter and have never looked back. The situation in Israel in worse than horrific. It's hard to handle even without the bombardment of news and the Internet. I stay updated through my peers and I donate and pray, but I don't watch the news.
