Is Blogging Still An Effective Tool For Affiliate Marketing?

The last quarter of 2020 for me has been a period of knowledge expansion. I tried out a lot of different courses revolving around digital marketing just to see if I had any blind spots.

Today I came across an affiliate marketing course by a YouTuber that is making 6 figures a year with affiliate marketing.

He said something in his first module that was very interesting. He said:

"...you're wasting your time trying to do affiliate marketing with a blog..."

While I do think that ranking a blog has become harder that only applies to those that get into it without the proper training and don't focus enough on applying the right tactics.

Even in 2020 (and beyond), starting a blog is still a very effective method for doing affiliate marketing.

These statistics show that you can still make a lot of money by blogging but as I said before training plays a large role.

These are the things in 2020 are important to put some more focus on:

• Keyword research and competition analysis
  Competition is fierce in 2020 but new low competition opportunities pop up every day you just need to know how to find them.
  Most people I have encountered that tend to say blogging doesn't work often don't put in the extra effort to do quality research because in the past it wasn't needed.
  
• How to create high quality content
  High quality content is the biggest factor to succeeding in affiliate marketing with the help of blogging. Content creates trust and is the reason why people keep coming to a website.
  
• Link building
  Backlinks will never not be important to getting visitors organically. It's one of the biggest factors that go into deciding on which page of Google your content will be placed.

Ranking blog content will always be a great way to succeed in Affiliate marketing for those that master these 3 skills.
