This is a famous line from the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People written by Stephen Covey.
While this line was aimed at conversation in general I do think it has a very important place in affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is all about providing a solution to a problem but how we offer it is just as important.

We might have an idea of what a niche might want but in the end, we're just a focus group of 1.
This is why I recommend the moment you're stuck to dive deeper into your niche.
Read their conversations on YouTube, Reddit, Quora, etc.
There are many cases where you might have the solution for the problem but:
- They just don't like that particular solution.
- They're missing some key knowledge about it.
- They don't believe you should pay for a solution.
In these cases, you might have to pivot to another affiliate product or change the context of your copy.
This can only be done when you understand your niche though.
Search volume and competition stats are all very helpful but the moment you start getting traffic your understanding of the conversations they're having will become just as valuable.
