Hi all.
One month in and I have made a lot more progress than I thought was possible.
I have managed to buy a domain, choose my niche, post a handful of posts and create a bunch of pages. the website is looking fairly professional but i still need to get my head around wordpress a lot better than i do now.

I am using my first website as a training exercise and also as personal therapy/online journal that will hopefully result in a bunch of content i can use to compile and give to my sons and daughter when they get old enough to care.
One of the challenges was a glitch in my wordpress theme that cut off a bunch of my headings. Luckily I managed to sort that out in a few days.
The WA community has been great, getting comments overnight is brilliant.
I will continue to chase the elusive front page google hit on one of my keywords.
I have just started the training about social media. This is something i have been actively avoiding for years now , so should be interesting (he says sarcastically).
all in all time and money well spent i reckon.
