Dedication Badge and 10,000 Steps
Calories Burned Walking 10,000 Steps And Dedication Badge - Tips for Profiting From Your Persistence apply to writing too.
There's no doubt that every Author starts out with a whole lot of questions, especially at the beginning of the writing process. The problem is, without the right answers, most authors throw up their hands and just give up. Luckily for you, here are the top 3 persistence encouragements every Author needs to know so you can find the success you're looking for.
What Walkers can teach you about 10,000 Steps
Four months ago, I began a program of losing weight that uses a popular phone app. We all know that losing weight can be accomplished by eating less and exercising more. There is a little twist, though, because you can eat a whole lot more of certain foods and still lose weight.
I have lost 35 pounds using this program. The app gives daily encouragement and talks about psychology quite a bit. What I like about it is that it give you a chart that shows your daily weight. You can see the downward trend as your weight fluctuates up and down. It logs in the calories for your meals, and it has many of the commonly eaten foods listed with their calories. It basically has you on a 1400 calorie diet, but it adds to your allowable calorie budget when you exercise. Walking usually adds an additional 200 calories or so.
When I first started, my goal was to walk 2,000 steps per day. The program would give you a new goal each day, and it would increase the number of steps each day by about 150 steps. I have worked my way up to walking 10,000 steps a day. By being persistent, I have reached this goal. I found out that I enjoy the walks.
This reason is important because it shows the value of not giving up. I was away from home the last two days, but I was still able to maintain the ten thousand steps by walking in a fairly large rectangle made up of four streets. It would have been easy to skip yesterday and today.
Here's how you use this: Set yourself a daily goal. If you are a writer, set a word goal for the day. Another way of doing it is to set a number of five-minute writing projects. If you do 15 of those projects per day, it is easy to write a chapter per day in 75 minutes.
Use this when you have your book planned out for all the chapters with the writing plans for the five-minute goals.
The Dedication Badge Encouragement that Can Keep You from Giving up Too Soon
When I got back from my walk today, I logged into Wealty Affiliate, which is where I have the hosting for my blog and website. They awarded me a dedication badge because of how long I have stuck with the program.
This type of encouragement is critical to your success because many internet marketers give up too soon. If you are an author, you need to be persistent when it comes to writing your book, and when it comes to marketing your book.
Here's how: Just stick with it. Learn from your mistakes. Regroup and go on. Be dedicated to the ideal of finishing your book. If you have some minor setbacks or failures, pick back up and go again.
This is most helpful when you feel like you can't go any farther.
How this Applies to Book Writing
These encouragements will help you because you really can get your book done. This works even if you have not planned out your book like I mentioned above.
This means you can, with proper dedication, just get the required number of words per day.
It's critical to remember this when it seems like this continued writing will be extremely difficult.
As I mentioned earlier, though, you can develop a plan for your book. When it is done, your book cries out to be written. Writing is fun. Your plan eliminates most of the psychological feeling of "writer's block."
So there you have it! 3 encouragements to help any and every Author get get your book done.
