My First 12 Hours on WA and I'm Losing Sleep.
I joined WA less than 12 hours ago, and already the site is keeping me awake at night. All night long my cell phone was pinging with a notification (by the way, how do I silence my email notifications so that I can get some sleep?) that I had received a follow request or message from another WA member. I can't believe the warm welcome I have received!
You WA members rock!
In just 12 hours WA has demonstrated that it is unlike any other online community. In fact, WA defines what a "community" is: a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. We are all in this together. We are all connected. I am not referring solely to WA. We are in a time where society has unfortunately drifted away from this ideal. Ironically, with the invention of cell phones, the internet and social media, we have the tools to grow closer together and form more intimate bonds. But, alas, we keep drifting further and further apart. It's sad.
Part of the reason I joined WA is so that I can get involved in digital publishing because I have this crazy notion that I can help a person or two. It's never been just about the money for me. Don't get me wrong, I like nice things! But money is not everything. You don't lie awake on your death bed counting your money. I have been told that my writing touches people. I'm hoping I can touch many more now that I am a part of this awesome, supportive community called Wealthy Affiliate.

You can control the types of emails that you get from wa through your account settings.
That excitement that you feel is very typical of the kind of person who would join WA. It is something new to them. Enjoy your stay. You seem to be a good fit.

I can totally relate having only signed up a few days ago. People here actually seem to embrace humanity ... they're welcoming, helpful and encouraging. If I've signed up with a dying breed who promote personal growth through the scope of good health and prosperity then, I shall die happy. LOL
