How can I Succeed with my niche?

So, I am getting up to my 6 month mark with WA, and am building out my site within my niche. I am still excited about the whole process but am starting to wonder if I am using the best keywords. I say this because I do not seem to be getting a lot of traffic to my site.
I have followed the lessons in each course thoroughly and am currently on course 4 lesson 7 (I had a bit of a break in December which slowed my progress a little).
I would love to get some ideas from the WA community as to how I can move forward with greater speed. I am connected to Google+,Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, and have already had some great tips so far (Gaylene). However, maybe I am being a little impatient but I did want to be seeing more traffic by this point.

My question is, how is everyone else here at WA succeeding with their particular niche when I do not seem to be making headway very quickly at all?
