March 10 | First Steps in my WA Journey

I've read so many "this is my first blog post" threads tonight that I really felt shamed into finally making my own. To be honest, I thought blogging here was something only the uber-established, long-time members did. Then I paid more attention and realized I was wrong.

I came to WA with a specific intention - to make use of my membership as a means of keeping myself on track while furthering my education. Before arriving here, I had already cleaned up my laptop files, my "real" files (I love paper) and my domain list as part of my "Get it Together in 2014" plan.

I have been working online for several years now. I've built websites of all types. I've written articles on what seems like every topic under the sun (except for the naughty ones), I've counseled and coached, ghostwritten ebooks and blogs and even cataloged store receipts. I trained in Facebook marketing (I personally can't stand FB) and in SEO (I enjoy SEO).

I've made a little bit of money doing a lot of different things. The good news is that I now know exactly how I want to spend my online time and how I want my business done. The bad news is that many of the "I can do" skills on my virtual resume are the "I don't want to " tasks in my planner.

I do want to write. I do want to publish. I do want to earn more. I do want to help other people realize their own dreams - especially those who need to be reminded that dreams exist.

My big goal for 2014 is to put the skills I have learned into practice and establish a profitable virtual real estate portfolio while helping others do the same.

Right now, it is 3 am here and I just finished entering a month's worth of messages into an autoresponder for the blog I am re-doing. Two days ago, I completed an overhaul of a local publishing website. This week, I'll get to work on the site I'll be using to promote WA.

In between the time spent learning and doing, I have met the most wonderful array of people - other WA members who are also striving to make their own lives better. There are so many things to appreciate about WA - but that's another blog post.

My first month at Wealthy Affiliate has been awesome. I look forward to many, many more.

Great work!!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. Keep up the good work. I am 2 days old in this community and I have a feeling I'll be here for a while.

Thanks. Welcome to the best community to be in if you want to learn how to succeed.

Awesome "first blog" looking forward to more.

Thank you.

That's great, good for you, keep up the good work.

Thanks.

That is awesome Rainey. Keep up the good work. You will be great at WA.

WA is certainly the best place to reach for greatness. Even better is the fact that it's everyone working together that makes it great.

It sounds like you have quite a lot to offer in posts on WA. I'm glad you went ahead and contributed. I really enjoyed reading this.

This is the start of my day, and it's a really good mindset for me to launch with. I always start my day with scheduling tasks and get organized and focused for the day. The task list is always getting longer and it's easy to lose site of the big picture.

I look forward to more posts from you in the future! Thanks!

Thank you. When I have time, I like to end my day by crossing off what I accomplished and planning what I need to do first in the morning. Although I am NOT a morning person, I get my best inspiration for articles, projects, etc. in that small window of time when I first wake up and haven't yet stepped into the day.
Now if I can only remember to replace the notebook that should be beside the bed but got carried off somewhere.

I like the applied hindsight of realizing that what we have learned is not necessarily what we want to be doing. LOL.
At least you like SEO, I have a smidgin of a sliver of a hunch that that might come in useful Enjoy! Andy

Really enjoyed your blog, and you certainly have talents and I am sure WA will get you on track to make the most of them wish you every success

Great RainyC! I'm really happy to hear! Continue your working and you will attract more success!

A VRE portfolio is simply a collection of profitable websites. : ) As someone who is no stranger to fixing barbed-wire fence, I find maintaining virtual property much more interesting - even on those days when nothing goes right.

Wow you certainly have crammed in a lot in your first month :) Congrats on that.... and I was wondering if you can tell me what a virtual RE portfolio is please I'm very curious..
Cheers, Linda
