Overthinking Categories

I am driving myself crazy coming up with categories for my website. I know I am overthinking this! My site is about helping other parents with kids on the Autism Spectrum. I know I want a category about "going out", "sensory issues", and something along the lines of resources. Under resources I am thinking of including helpful websites, books, etc. I just want my site to be easy to navigate. I need to get over this so I can get on with my training!

MHainsworth is right. Don't over think it, you will constantly be improving and adding to your page as you go through training and beyound. Don't try to think of to much at once just concentrate on the resources and as you develope that the other stuff will come. Research on resources will spur more ideas.

Thanks, I have to continually remind myself not to worry about making posts perfect. I just need to keep going through the training and I can always make things better as I learn.

I find a year down the line that I'm still changing categories or adding sub categories as themes emerge. On the ones you suggested I would choose Autism Resources (or something similar) as your category because Google does use categories as a way of understanding what your site is about.

Honestly for now, I would go with 'resources', 'about me' and 'privacy policy' for your categories. Maybe just begin by blogging ...tell of your experiences and the things you hope to accomplish for the parents coming to your site. The other categories will come. Easy to add. The resources category will be pretty straightforward and as you blog, themes (categories) will make themselves known. Take Care, Robin
