Writing a blog post quickly with your IPAD/IPHONE or IPOD !
If you are like me, sometimes finding the downtime to just sit still for 30 minutes and write a post is almost impossible!
With work, kids, community involvement and everything else, I often found myself at the end of the day too tired to sit and write... and lets face it, trying to write a blog post late at night when you are tired does not lend itself well to great creative content ... LOL !
I have tried many tips and tricks over the years:
- getting up 30 minutes earlier - that worked for about a week...
- writing a to do list and ensuring that the top 3 gets done daily - I must say this has been one of the most consistent method, but not 100 % there!
- saving a few hours and go nuts and write several blog at once, not bad, but then again you miss the inspiration of the moment and you tend to start fishing for things to write.
Using dictation Apps is a time saver !
So, here what I have found to be a great time saver !
I have since last month been using a dictation app on my IPAD, also available for iPhones and IPOD's, what it does is records your voice and transfers it to text, I would say it is 99%accurate, so some work is required afterwards, but the main benefit, is that when subjects, ideas or topics spring into your mind, you just click record and talk away, I often get this done in the car or when going for a walk.
Then you just cut and paste your text and start re-arranging your text....
Example: this blog post came to mind on my way home from work, stuck in traffic, I took my IPAD out click record and start blabbing away, this morning I had 15 minutes to kill, so took the text, re-arrangesome of the paragraphs, added some pics... and voila!
Why I love this over my trusty note pad, is that I don't always have it with me, but I carry my phone almost everywhere!
Technology can be awesome when we use it wisely and to truly improve our lives!
Time Management is huge benefit !

Very good Richard. Way to go, excellent use of time windows, inspiration and linked to modern day phones/tablets gets the job done...and the time killed !

Absolutely right. On my Windows laptop I used to use Dragon, which cost quite a bit, but with the iPad it is built in. The time savings are significant.
