WA's Got Talent - PILOT
Another idea (I'm on a morning's rant fasting). WA's GOT TALENT!, but before you say anything give me a chance to explain why I post this and how this will benefit the community, OK?
I find incredibly hard to deal with information overload and ideas overload. There are so many gems out there, but the day still has 24 hours and we have to choose what we read and the actions we take if we don't want to get paralyzed.
A short story to introduce this new baby project
One of my buddies sent me a PM, telling me that he had won a contest which I had no idea existed. I got curious, search for a reference he made, another user, and I discovered another like-minded spirit! @LindaRiel
"I am a massive idea factory. The more I read and connect, the more ideas I seem to get. Now the trick will be to work it into something cohesive that I can run long term"
I checked one of her blogs, and I found another gem. Many hours and resources devoted to a giveaway, with real value, 100% related to WA guidelines. But...
- 3 people interested
- 2 likes (now 3, including mine)
- not even one 'thank you, but I pass'
I don't know, I don't get it. I was a little disappointed with the result of my own giveaways, but I said to myself, 'keep on rowing, it's not time yet...' and moved on.
Linda has been doing the same with fewer results (and she is better than me).
Is it fair? Is there a conspiracy against creative people? Wrong questions.
This is what happens in real life. To get exposure, no matter how good your product is, you need to take into account many factors. And costs. Or be doomed to fail.
I'm resilient and stubborn. I refuse to accept many rules without questioning them to check if they really make sense. Or I try to think outside of the box and explore original ways to overcome my limitations.
So the proposal is to create WAGT
- Nominate 4 judges
- Nominate candidates to show their talents
- Share with other members by PM to make this viral
- Create a prize for the winner
Who's in?
BTW, I want to give Linda my acknowledgment sharing her latest blog link:

Hey Richard,
You are helping many people start their website. A lot of people have trouble picking a niche. What a great idea!!!

Good Morning Richard,
Such a nice idea to write a post about this. I went to say hello to Linda but I cannot do the contest as I need a day with 48 hours but sadly days only have 24.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Somebody please figure out how to squeeze more hours (even just a few) into a day. Maybe install a switch in my brain to turn it off for at least 4 for some good deep sleep.
Now Richard and Linda have added to the scrambled mess adding my stuff for my brain (hope I have one) to figure out how to use.

Good Morning Barry,
In a few days, I will start a cure which will last some 60 days. It is putting oxygen into your cells, perhaps that could help you too?
4 hours is definitely too little, I am not a teenager anymore but I need between 7 to 8 hours.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

You got a smart buddy and Linda is super cool. Remember the movie The Hudsucker Proxy. Remember Tim Robbins was the "idea man". He drew a circle on a piece of paper and presented it to his boss, Paul Newman. Newman thought he was a bozo.
HIs idea turned our to be the Hula Hoop. One of the best movies ever. You can always bounce them ideas off me.
